Not every step in a haircare routine needs a product, sometimes the right tool does just as much of the work.
Our hair accessories are designed to work alongside your usual routine, helping protect hair from unnecessary damage and making everyday habits like brushing or drying that bit gentler.
Hairbrushes and combs for brushing and detangling
Brushing shouldn't mean pulling or snapping hair...
Our Beechwood Hairbrush and Detangling Beechwood Comb are both made from natural wood, gentle enough for everyday use without the static or friction that plastic bristles can cause.
In the same range, our Volume Comb is a good pick if you're working with waves or curls specifically, its wider teeth help detangle without disrupting your natural pattern.
How to use a detangling comb
Dampen hair first, ideally with a little conditioner still in, this helps the comb glide through rather than catch.
Work in small sections, rather than tackling the whole head at once.
Start at the ends, easing out knots gradually.
Move upwards towards the roots, section by section, so you're only ever dealing with one knot at a time.
How to use the Beechwood Curl Volume Comb
Wait until hair's still damp, rather than fully dry, before combing.
Add a leave-in product first, this helps the comb move freely through curls or waves without snagging.
Run the comb through in sections, using the wider-set teeth to separate curls rather than smooth them out.
Focus on the roots for volume, a few passes per section is usually plenty.
Hair tools for scalp care
A healthy scalp is where healthy hair starts.
Our Scalp Massaging Brush is formulated with hair strengthening in mind, helping stimulate circulation during shampooing, a small habit that takes seconds but genuinely adds up over time.
What pairs well with a scalp massaging brush
It works just as well on its own, but pairing it with a product takes things up a notch:
Hair oils: A rich oil helps the bristles glide more easily across the scalp, turning a quick brush-through into an actual massage rather than a bit of friction. Try our Haircare Oil With 7 Precious Oils, massaged in before shampooing.
Essential oils: A few drops of essential oil, properly diluted in a carrier oil, add a traditional stimulating element to scalp massage, the kind of ritual that's been used for generations rather than a modern shortcut. Our Atlas Cedarwood Essential Oil is a classic pick for this, always diluted before use.
Serums: A lightweight serum won't leave the same residue as an oil, so it's a good option if you want the massage benefit without the heavier finish, particularly on finer hair. Our Keratin AA, Peptides & Hyaluronic Acid Hair Serum works well here, massaged in with the brush for scalp-to-length coverage.
Hair accessories for protecting hair day to day
Some of the simplest habits make the biggest difference.
Our Waterproof Cotton Hair Cap keeps hair dry and protected, whether that's in the shower or the pool, and the Organic Cotton Hair Towel offers a gentler alternative to rough terry towels, helping reduce friction and frizz when drying.
A simple routine to support hair growth
If growth is what you're after, consistency with the right tools and products genuinely helps, more so than any single miracle step.
Here's a full routine, worked around a typical wash day, plus a couple of daily habits alongside it.
Once or twice a week, before washing
Massage the scalp for 2-3 minutes with a few drops of diluted essential oil, Atlas Cedarwood or Bay Rum Tree are both traditional picks for scalp stimulation, using the Scalp Massaging Brush to work it in. Leave for 20-30 minutes, or overnight if you don't mind a slightly oily pillow, before shampooing as usual.
Before every wash
Brush through dry hair with a Beechwood Hairbrush to gently remove knots and reduce breakage before it's made worse by water and product.
During shampooing
Massage the scalp again with Aroma-Zone's Scalp Massaging Brush, this time with your shampoo, for a minute or two, helping stimulate circulation at the roots.
After washing
Detangle damp hair with a Detangling Beechwood Comb, starting from the ends, then dry gently with the Organic Cotton Hair Towel to avoid unnecessary friction. Follow with the Strengthening & Densifying Hair Serum, applied to the scalp and left in, formulated with anti-hair-loss properties in mind.
Daily, alongside the routine
For an inside-out approach, the Hair Complex food supplement is often taken alongside a topical routine, on the basis that hair health can be as much about what you take in as what you apply.
None of this replaces a dedicated medical treatment if hair loss is significant or sudden, and it's worth having that conversation with a GP or trichologist first in that case.
But for general thinning or a bit of extra support, this combination of consistent scalp care, gentle handling and targeted products is a genuinely solid place to start. Accessories alone won't always get you there, understanding your hair type properly is really the first step towards a healthy scalp and hair that's genuinely easier to manage.
Our hair routine assessment can help you figure out exactly where to start.
