The shaft consists of 3 layers:

The cuticle: the cuticle is the name given to the outer layer of the hair. It is made up of flat, scale-like cells that overlap to form a protective covering for the hair shaft. A healthy cuticle has sealed scales and is smooth to the touch. It is the cuticle that gives hair its shine. It also helps lock optimal moisture into the hair.

The cortex: this is the intermediate layer and main component of the hair shaft. The cortex contains long cells made up of helical chains of keratin. These chains are joined by thousands of bonds called 'disulphide bridges'. These capillary connections between keratin fibres give hair its texture, suppleness and strength. It is also in the cortex that the melanin pigments responsible for hair colour are found.

The medulla: at the core of the hair we find the medulla. There is keratin here in the form of loosely packed cells forming an amorphous, soft, greasy substance. The medulla contains amino acids and sugars, such as glycogen.

Uses

It is ideal for dry, oily, fine, thick, straight, wavy, curly and frizzy hair, including bleached and coloured hair. It is also suitable for grey and white hair.

Apply a few drops of serum to your dry or damp hair, right down to the ends, as a daily leave-in treatment.
Style with a comb or your fingers.

In what order should I apply the products in my hair routine?

Step 1

Start by washing your hair with our Shampoo Base or a Solid Shampoo.

Step 2

Then apply a conditioner and/or the Hair Mask Base. Leave on, then rinse.

Step 3

Apply Keratin AA, Peptides and AH Hair Serum to your dry or towel-dried hair right down to the ends.

Step 4

If your hair is textured, apply a leave-in hair cream and/or our Curl-Defining Gel.

Composition

Combination of ingredients: the itaconic acid* complex of active ingredients and biomimetic keratin peptides reconnect and restorative disulphide bridges and keratin chains, strengthening the hair fibre from within. Vegan Keratin AA fortifies and strengthens the hair fibre while closing the cuticles to coat the hair, resulting in shinier, glossier hair. Hyaluronic acid provides moisturising and protective effects.

Key ingredients

Keratin AA: these 100% natural, vegan amino acids, biomimetic of the keratin in hair, are a perfect alternative to keratin of animal origin. They penetrate the hair fibre to strengthen, moisturise and prevent breakage. They close the cuticles and support the hair fibre, which means the serum is able to make hair brighter and shinier.

Sh-oligopeptide-78: a biomimetic peptide of Keratin II, containing 13 amino acids. It penetrates the capillary cortex to restore hair from within, reconnecting the disulphide bridges and keratin chains. It restores the hair's integrity and strengthens the hair fibre. Hair regains its initial strength, shine and elasticity with the application of the serum.

Itaconic acid* and arginine complex : this complex binds to damaged keratin fibres to create new disulphide bridges and strengthen the hair fibre from the inside out. It helps the product reduce hair porosity and improve its hydrophobicity (water repellency), making it more resistant to humidity.

Hyaluronic acid : 100% natural and produced by fermentation of wheat, hyaluronic acid is a powerful moisturising ingredient. It means the serum is capable of maintaining the hair's moisture level and provide suppleness and protection.
