It is ideal for dry, oily, fine, thick, straight, wavy, curly and frizzy hair, including bleached and coloured hair. It is also suitable for grey and white hair.

The shaft consists of 3 layers:

The cuticle: the cuticle is the name given to the outer layer of the hair. It is made up of flat, scale-like cells that overlap to form a protective covering for the hair shaft. A healthy cuticle has sealed scales and is smooth to the touch. It is the cuticle that gives hair its shine. It also helps lock optimal moisture into the hair.

The cortex: this is the intermediate layer and main component of the hair shaft. The cortex contains long cells made up of helical chains of keratin. These chains are joined by thousands of bonds called 'disulphide bridges'. These capillary connections between keratin fibres give hair its texture, suppleness and strength. It is also in the cortex that the melanin pigments responsible for hair colour are found.

The medulla: at the core of the hair we find the medulla. There is keratin here in the form of loosely packed cells forming an amorphous, soft, greasy substance. The medulla contains amino acids and sugars, such as glycogen.
