High-performance products at fair prices

In the world of cosmetics, how do you recognise quality skincare? While price has long been regarded as a guarantee of excellence, it is no longer the main marker of effectiveness. With hyper-aware consumers who know how to decipher labels and greater transparency about formulas, a high price is no longer necessarily synonymous with quality.

At Aroma-Zone, our product philosophy is based on affordable prices. This has been our absolute commitment since the very beginning. It's possible to have natural formulas with proven effectiveness, with high doses of dermocosmetic active ingredients and rich in certified organic plant extracts. And all without ever compromising the quality of the raw materials or the fair valuation of the producers.

Here's how it works.

Formula prioritised

Our approach: the whole value of the product comes from its formula. Our marketing costs are very limited, we don't hire any celebrities to sell our products and there are no massive advertising campaigns. We concentrate our efforts on Research & Development and on choosing the best quality ingredients at just the right dosage.

"When we formulate our products, we take the liberty of using very expensive active ingredients because they are very well objectivised. This means that their effectiveness has been measured and quantified by scientific studies and clinical tests. For a future hair serum, we have sourced an active ingredient costing over €150,000 per kilo because it is so effective. Our business model, with no intermediaries and high volumes, means we can incorporate ultra-valuable active ingredients while you get to enjoy finished products at an affordable price.

Pascale Ruberti, Innovation and Products Director

For example, we use hyaluronic acid as a gelling agent in all our face serums, whereas most brands simply use xanthan gum. "A real luxury," says Pascale Ruberti. We choose hyaluronic acid, even though it's much more expensive, to benefit from both its gel-forming properties and its moisturising and plumping properties.

Another example is the Vegan Collagen Serum Concentrate, which contains collagen peptides that are biomimetic of human collagen. The cost of these peptides, derived from virtuous biotechnologies, is over €6,000 per kilo. We've managed to sell a 30 ml bottle for €9.95. Proof that the best anti-ageing skincare can be affordable for everyone.

Maximum safety in use

Endocrine disruptors, carcinogenic substances, genotoxicity, systemic toxicity (on the organs): all the ingredients we use, all our products and all our formulas are analysed to ensure there is zero risk and guarantee the safest possible use for your health. By scrupulously following the COSMOS guidelines, we are more stringent than European cosmetics regulations, and we also avoid the most problematic ingredients (PFAS, silicones, sulphates, etc).

We use 100% natural preservatives, which are much gentler and better tolerated by the skin than synthetic preservatives (organic salt, benzoic acid, etc.), even though they are authorised by the Cosmos standards. We surpass this standard in our choice of preservatives, to ensure that our formulas are as safe as possible. Thanks to our 100% natural preservative systems, our products are great for all skin types, even the most sensitive.

Proven effectiveness at a fair price

Objectivity tests are carried out by external laboratories on the formulas of our cosmetic products to validate their effectiveness. Our skincare range has been clinically tested under dermatological control with proven effectiveness. Proof, if proof were needed, that our fairly-priced skincare products offer effective solutions for the skincare and well-being concerns of our community.

Take the example of a "Notox" treatment, a genuine natural alternative to injections:

Spilanthes Botox-Effect Serum Concentrate - €9.95

This organic and vegan serum prevents and reduces wrinkles thanks to an innovative plant complex of spilanthes and butterfly lavender, which inhibits muscle contractions.

PROVEN AND TESTED

  • 100% smoother skin

  • 87% more elastic skin

  • 83% skin is plumper, regenerated and the complexion is radiant

*% satisfaction on the above criteria, laboratory test carried out under dermatological control for 28 days on a total of 30 people.

Formula: 100% natural origin, organic & vegan certified, dermatologically tested, made in France

A fully in-house laboratory

Our Research & Development department is entirely in-house, whereas many brands use white-label subcontractors. Toxicology, cosmetic formulation, research into objectivised active ingredients - everything is orchestrated at Aroma-Zone by a high-level scientific team working in synergy. While cutting down on costs, this model gives us 100% control over the quality of our products, from the choice of ingredients to their safety and innovative formulas.

A model without intermediaries

Our ecosystem works without intermediaries at every level. Our plant extracts (carrier oils, plant-based butters, hydrosols) are sourced 80% directly from the farmer or processor (oil mill, distillery, etc.). This model is designed for guaranteed traceability from field to bottle and a fair return on the producer's labour.

We distribute our products directly via our website and in our shops. This short distribution circuit****avoids the often substantial margins of distributors (specialist shops, pharmacies, online sales sites, etc.), which can double the selling price of a product.

Smart, optimised bottles

It's a little known fact, but the bottle plays a very important role in the final cost of a cosmetic product. At Aroma-Zone, we've always taken a smart approach to our bottles. By sharing the same bottles and jars for several product ranges, selecting simple bottles, sourcing directly from the manufacturer and ordering large volumes, we are drastically reducing the share of the bottle in the final selling price of our products.

This smart design also addresses consumer safety: our bottles are analysed and validated for their harmlessness by our toxicology department, as well as eco-design:

  • 95% of our products have recyclable packaging

  • 75% of our face serums come with 100% recyclable refills and are 100% single-material

  • 70% of products packaged in plastic are made from recycled plastic, whereas according to a 2022 OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) study, only 9% of all plastic produced in the world is recycled.

To reduce our environmental footprint, we also choose not to use secondary packaging and reduce all forms of over-packaging. This choice is in line with our approach of not inflating the price of our products with expensive packaging.

Finally, we use life-cycle analyses to inform our choices, so that we can select a more environmentally-friendly material based on its impact on biodiversity or its carbon footprint.
