Climate and Biodiversity, our actions
Faced with a context that is unfavorable to ecological transition and compliance with the Paris Climate Agreement, we at Aroma-Zone are and remain deeply convinced of the urgent need to combat global warming and the collapse of biodiversity. Every day, we take action to build a future that is more respectful of life. We move forward with humility and always strive to do better: to reduce the carbon footprint of our activities, preserve biodiversity, reduce plastic, and renounce polluting developments. This is our compass, every day.
Eco-design is our obsession
We are constantly working on the biodegradability and ecotoxicity of our formulas, raw ingredients and materials and suncare products, supported by the expertise of an ecotoxicologist who is an integral part of our teams. We ban all ingredients that are controversial or harmful to health and the environment from our formulas.
To preserve resources and prevent pollution, particularly plastic, our products are developed according to an internal eco-design charter:
96% of our products have no secondary packaging.
95% of our products have recyclable packaging.
75% of our facial serums come with a refill that is 100% recyclable and 100% single-material.
We ban PFAS

These per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, grouped together under the name PFAS, are described as forever pollutants because they remain permanently in the environment. This vast family of thousands of chemical compounds has been widely used in everyday consumer products since the 1950s, particularly in make-up and cosmetics. These forever pollutants are dangerous to health and the environment. We have never used PFAS and we have even taken things a step further. We have chosen to plan ahead for future regulations by checking that there are no traces of PFAS in our finished products, formulas and primary packaging, by using special analyses carried out by independent laboratories.
Discover our formulation charter: more stringent than European cosmetics regulations.
We are reducing the carbon footprint of our activities
To reduce our greenhouse gas emissions as much as possible and combat global warming, we have had our carbon-neutral trajectory for all our activities by 2030 scientifically validated by SBTi (Science Based Target initiative). Our commitments are stringent:
42% of all greenhouse gas emissions for our internal activities
50% of the greenhouse gas emission levels of our value chain activities (purchasing, transport, product end-of-life)
We support organic farming
We choose to support agriculture that respects the soil, water and biodiversity, without synthetic inputs or GMOs. We support 400 organic sectors around the world.
The next steps are to develop agro-ecology to make our supply chains more robust and resilient, support pilot farms and then roll out the programme on a large scale.
70% of our plant supply chains are organic
80% organic: our target for 2030
We recycle and re-use everything
We are committed to encouraging you to re-use items through our eco-refills. We continue to look for materials that have the least impact on the environment, and we are particularly focused on finding a truly eco-friendly alternative to plastic. We are experimenting with new circular economy methods for our cosmetics and food supplements ranges, in particular by testing the drop-off system in two pilot shops.
Our goal:
100% recyclable and/or reusable packaging by 2030.
A simple initiative: consider eco-refills whenever you can!
We are committed to green chemistry

In our formulas, we combine plant extracts from organic farming with active ingredients from biotechnologies and surfactants, emollients or emulsifiers from green chemistry.
Green chemistry is all about reducing the use of compounds that are toxic to humans and the environment, while avoiding wastage of raw materials and resources. It consists of using chemical processes with no oil via renewable raw materials.
Biotechnology can be summed up in one phrase: getting better products out of less resources. Considered to be the future of cosmetics, biotechnology exploits the fermentative capacities of micro-organisms to develop solutions in the cosmetics, medical and environmental fields.
Our flagship active ingredient, vegan hyaluronic acid, for example, is derived from biotechnologies (biofermentations of glucose and peptones of plant origin).
Working together to take it to the next level
We strongly believe in the need to cooperate with other companies in the sector so that there is faster progress on major environmental issues. We are a member of the Convention des Entreprises pour le Climat (CEC), the Shift Project, the Green Impact Index consortium and the Consigne Coalition led by Circul'R.
