Hair gifts that don't feel like an afterthought

A well-chosen hair product or two covers more ground than people give it credit for: a stocking filler at Christmas, a "just because" treat, a small thank-you, or something for the trickier names on a gift list, a colleague, a new housemate, anyone you like but don't know quite well enough to buy something more personal. It doesn't take wrapping-paper-level effort to feel considered, whether it's one item on its own or a small handful wrapped together.

If you know their hair, use it

A little detail about the hair you're buying for helps narrow things down, though it's not essential.

Pick one, or combine two or three to build a proper little routine:

  1. For dry or dull-feeling hair, a dry oil is hard to beat, our Satin Gold Dry Oil, great for hair and body, or Haircare Oil With 7 Precious Oils. They both work as a finishing touch or an overnight treat.

  2. For hair that's feeling a bit tired or thin, a strengthening serum, our Strengthening & Densifying Hair Serum or Keratin AA, Peptides & Hyaluronic Acid Hair Serum,

makes a genuinely useful gift rather than a token one.

  3. For curly or textured hair, a proper curl cream, like our Curl Care Cream, tends to go down better than something generic.

  4. For anyone who loves a proper hair day, a hair mask is an easy win, indulgent enough to feel like a treat, useful enough to actually get used. Aroma-Zone's neutral hair mask can be personalised with any hair active ingredients of your choice, to target specific hair concerns.

  5. Two of these together, a dry oil and a serum, say, or a mask and an accessory, already start to feel like a little routine rather than a single gift.

If you don't know their hair type, that's fine too! A gentle, broadly-suited product like a hair mask, or a simple accessory, is generally the safer bet over anything more targeted.

The small extras that make a gift feel thoughtful

Not every good hair gift is a product you apply, some of the nicest ones are the accessories people rarely buy themselves, and they're exactly what turns a single product into a proper little kit: a scalp massaging brush, a hairbrush or comb, a proper cotton hair towel, or a waterproof hair cap for the shower.

They're small, they're easy to wrap, and they tend to sit at a lower price point, useful as a stocking filler or Secret Santa gift on their own, or tucked in alongside one of the products above to round things out.

Pick and choose your favourites

There's no set formula here, and that's rather the point.

Take a single stand-out product, add one of the small extras above, or mix a couple of items from different categories altogether, a dry oil and a scalp brush, a serum and a hair towel, whatever combination suits the person and the budget.

However it's put together, it reads as a gift that's actually been thought about.

Or let us do the assembling

Putting together your own little kit is easy enough with a couple of the products above, but if you'd rather skip that step, there are ready-made options too, our Haircare Discovery Kit if they're curious to try a few things, or a smaller set like 3 Vanilla Treasures or the Hair Beauty Essentials Gift Set if you'd rather hand over something already put together.
