These standard-size plant-based capsules are ideal for preparing your customised capsules. Made from pullulan, obtained by fermentation from tapioca, they provide an effective barrier against oxygen and therefore help preserve all the properties of the ingredients they contain.

When preparing a mixture for your capsules, you can choose to:

• Prepare all the capsules in advance (they can be stored for approximately 2 months in an airtight container away from light and heat). This method is possible with powders and vegetable oils, but not with mixtures that are highly concentrated in essential oils (more than 2 drops per capsule or 10% in the mixture), such as aromatherapy formulas.

• Prepare your 3 capsules each day, or your capsule each time you take it before swallowing, keeping the oil mixture in an amber glass bottle, away from heat and light. We recommend this method for mixtures containing essential oils to avoid any risk of leakage.

Please note

• You must allow your capsule filler to dry completely before using it again.

• If water comes into contact with the pullulan capsules, you will not be able to fill and assemble them.

Precautions

• Label the prepared capsules and keep them out of reach of children.

• Only use food-grade powders and oils.

• Never put pure essential oil in an empty capsule.

• Essential oils must be diluted in an oily carrier or correctly dispersed in a powdered carrier suitable for use in capsules: a maximum of 2 drops per capsule or 10% in the carrier.

• Ingesting essential oils is not a trivial matter, so empty capsules should only be used to absorb essential oils with full knowledge of the facts, and preferably under medical supervision. 

• Never exceed the prescribed dosages. Choosing an inappropriate essential oil or using unsuitable dosages can be dangerous in the short or medium term.

• In general, for any ingestion of plant powders, vegetable oils, or essential oils, follow appropriate advice and find out about any contraindications. Carefully read the information sheets for the ingredients used and the associated precautions. For any therapeutic use, seek advice from your doctor.

• In general, we do not recommend giving homemade personalised capsules to children or pregnant or breastfeeding women.

• These pullulan capsules dissolve on contact with water and therefore cannot contain aqueous liquids. They are intended to contain only dry powders, vegetable oils, or mixtures of vegetable oil(s) and essential oil(s).

Storage

• Store your empty capsules in their jar, ensuring that it is kept away from moisture and heat, ideally between 59°F and 77°F.

• Once filled, store your capsules in their jar, or in a suitable airtight container, away from light, moisture, and heat.

• Filled capsules can be stored for approximately 2 months.

Cleaning

• The capsule filling machine can be easily cleaned in a bath of hot soapy water not exceeding 65°C. 

• Rinse the bottle with clean water.

• For volatile powders that tend to remain encrusted in the holes of the feeder, we recommend using the Mini Cleaning Brush to remove them completely.
