MSM, or methylsulfonylmethane, is an organosulfur compound that occurs naturally in many plants, including cabbage. It is not really possible to extract it from plants, so the MSM sold commercially is always synthetic. Most of the time, MSM is synthesised from purely chemical derivatives of petrochemicals, but the grade we offer is derived entirely from renewable plant sources (non-GMO corn). Analyses of the 14C ratio prove that this MSM is derived entirely from plant sources and not from fossil (petroleum) sources.
The MSM we offer is manufactured under strictly controlled conditions to guarantee a high-quality, very pure product, without any additives or excipients. MSM is widely used as a dietary supplement and is particularly renowned for helping people prone to allergies, relieving joint discomfort, improving inflammatory pain, and improving the condition of the skin and hair. Its effectiveness seems to be linked to the fact that sulfur is an essential element for life, particularly for collagen synthesis, and therefore for maintaining the good condition of connective tissues such as skin, tendons, and cartilage. MSM is an 'organic' form of sulfur, much better absorbed by the body than sulfur in its mineral form, which also has a characteristic sulfurous odor that is often unpleasant. MSM, on the other hand, has a neutral odour and is therefore ideal for cosmetic use.
