The reasons behind the limited availability of certain references

It may happen that some of our products are unavailable for a short time. This may affect one of your favourite products, which you use on an everyday basis. To help you understand why certain products are often out of stock, we have listed the products concerned and the reasons why they are often out of stock.

At Aroma-Zone, we know how important it is to be transparent with our community. Here are the reasons why certain products are out of stock:

Aroma Zone quality standards - Selection of batches

To ensure the optimum quality of our Aroma-Zone ingredients, we select the highest quality batches of each raw material from our suppliers. This approach means we can guarantee an adequate concentration of active molecules, a fresh batch or to choose batches that meet our olfactory requirements. We also have requirements for certain quality criteria (for example, a low peroxide value for a carrier oil).

This uncompromising quest for quality can, at times, lead to supply shortages.

As is always the case with natural materials, 100% reproducibility is never possible. There is normal variability from one harvest to another, and climatic hazards, drought or poor harvests can affect the availability from one year to the next, as well as reducing the quantities of raw materials available for certain products at certain times, which can also lead to supply difficulties.

A natural ingredient affected by resources with a preservation scheme

To preserve our precious biodiversity, many materials are subject to strict regulations, such as CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora), which regulates trade in certain plants.

These measures are essential for protecting our environment, and they limit the quantities of these materials available, which can lead to supply disruptions. As well as regulations, we are committed to avoiding the over-exploitation of natural resources.

For this reason, we have decided to stop selling Jatamansi spikenard essential oil. This wild plant, which grows in Nepal, is threatened with extinction and, despite CITES regulations and restrictions on export volumes, it is still difficult to guarantee that harvesting will not endanger this fragile resource. So we are now offering you a range of alternatives to replace spikenard essential oil in its various uses.

Limited quantity available due to limited biomass with a specific origin

For certain natural ingredients, we have chosen to only use a specific high-quality origin. These natural items are subject to the cycle of nature, with harvests generally only taking place once a year and the quantities of plant material produced in a specific area being naturally limited.

So, for cacay oil, we have opted for oil of Colombian origin with exceptional quality, but unlike the more widely available Brazilian-sourced oil, the quantity of cacay produced by the Colombian farming sector is limited, making the product all the more valuable.

Similarly, for organic Provence tomato oil, we have chosen to work in partnership with a very rigorous local chain that uses the by-products of tomato food production in a short circuit. However, the volumes of organic tomato oil produced in France are currently limited.

That's why we sometimes don't have enough stock to ensure that there are enough supplies throughout the year. These products may be out of stock while we wait for the next harvest to arrive.

Items affected by these limits

Here is an exhaustive list of Aroma-Zone products that may be frequently out of stock due to the various factors mentioned above.
