I add it to a neutral AZ base
Plant-based Squalane can be incorporated into a ready-made AZ Neutral Base to make:
An emulsion: with ORGANIC neutral plant-based lotion, ORGANIC Youth Neutral cream and ORGANIC Moisturising cream, ORGANIC Hair Mask neutral base.
An aqueous gel: with ORGANIC Aloe Vera Gel
A foaming product: with ORGANIC Neutral Cleansing Cream
An oil: ORGANIC neutral massage & treatment oil
A balm: with Melt & Pour Base Stick
Use plant-based squalane as an ingredient in one of the above-mentioned neutral AZ bases to make an emulsion, gel, foaming product, oil or balm.
Step 1
Pour your product into a cosmetic preparation bowl or other suitable container.
Step 2
Add the desired quantity of Elastine Booster (see table of typical dosages above and within the limit of the maximum percentage of 0.5% for incorporating into AZ's Neutral Base).
Step 3
Shake well to mix well.
Step 4
Pour the product into its container, using a pipette if necessary.
Make a recipe from A to Z
Plant-based squalane can be incorporated as an active ingredient in your creams, milks, oils, balms and gels.
Preparing an emulsion with squalane
Incorporate plant-based squalane into the oil phase before the emulsion is formed, or use plant-based squalane instead of vegetable oil as the sole oil phase. Plant-based squalane is very stable and can be heated without any problem for emulsification.
Preparing a treatment or massage oil or balm with squalane
Simply mix the plant-based squalane with the other oily ingredients, heating if necessary for balms.
Preparing a gel with squalane
Plant-based squalane is insoluble in water and therefore cannot be dissolved in an aqueous product. However, in a gel of sufficiently viscous consistency, it is possible to introduce up to 5% of dispersed plant-based squalane at the end of the formulation (possibly shaking the product before use if the squalane separates).

Learn more
Squalane is a stable derivative of squalene, a natural component of human sebum. Squalene is also the predominant compound in the famous 'unsaponifiable' fraction, which makes a major contribution to olive oil's cosmetic virtues.
Thanks to its biomimetic structure (similar to the lipids that make up the skin's natural lipid film), squalane has excellent affinity with the skin and acts as a natural emollient.
It has a very fine, non-greasy silky feel that penetrates the skin very easily. Squalane reinforces the skin's lipid barrier, making it softer and more supple and protecting it from dehydration.
The plant-based squalane we offer is obtained from squalene extracted from olive oil, using a very environmentally-friendly process that does not involve the use of solvents.

EO = Essential Oil
VO = Carrier Oil or Macerated Oil
Squalane: 12 g
Maceration of alkanet root in sweet almond oil: 12 g
Rose hip oil: 10 g
Beeswax: 10 g
Emulsifying wax: 10 g
Calophylla oil: 8 g
Rose hydrosol: 110 g
Borax: 1/2 teaspoon
The essential oil of your choice: 6 drops
Method: To prepare the alkanet macerate: mix 4 g of grated alkanet root with 140 g of sweet almond oil in a heat-resistant glass container. Place the container in a bain-marie and heat over a low heat for 15 minutes. Remove from the heat and leave to stand for half an hour. Filter the oil and place in a bottle. Store in the fridge. Use as a colouring oil for pink cosmetics. To prepare the cream: Heat the squalane with the alkanet macerate, oils and waxes. In another container, heat the hydrosol with the borax. When all the oil phase has melted, remove both containers from the heat and pour the water phase into the oil phase, stirring well until an emulsion forms. Allow to cool, then add the essential oil and stir well.
Important note (Aroma-Zone): Borax is a potentially irritating raw material that is delicate to use. We recommend replacing it with one of our preservatives (approximately 32 drops of Cosgard, Naticide or 1.0 g of Grapefruit Seed Extract).
Container: 50 ml pump bottle
25 ml plant-based Glycerine
25 ml plant-based Squalane
5 drops of Rosewood essential oil
5 drops of Ylang-Ylang essential oil
5 drops of Geranium essential oil
3 drops of Vitamin E
Method: Place the Glycerine and Squalane in a bowl. Add the drops of essential oil and Vitamin E. Mix well and pour into the bottle.
Use: Apply a dab of this serum to all the ends of your hair after towel-drying.
