In powder mixtures: add bamboo sap powder directly, mixing thoroughly with the other powders, ideally using a mortar for makeup products.
In aqueous preparations such as emulsions (creams, milks), gels, and foaming products: incorporate bamboo sap powder either at the end of the preparation or in the aqueous phase from the start (particularly for gels). Bamboo sap can be heated in the aqueous phase.
As bamboo sap has an alkaline pH, it can raise the pH of aqueous preparations. It is therefore important to check the pH at the end of the preparation and adjust if necessary using lactic acid or citric acid.
In balms, sticks, lipsticks: disperse the bamboo sap in the melted oil preparation.
Recommended dosages:
1 to 50% in powder mixtures
0.5 to 3% in creams and milks
1 to 10% in gels, lotions, and foaming products
0.5 to 10% in balms and sticks
Aroma-Zone Tip
As bamboo sap has an alkaline pH, it can be used as a pH adjuster to increase the pH of your aqueous preparations (creams, milks, gels, lotions, etc.). Add bamboo sap in small quantities to your preparation, mixing well, then test the pH with a pH test strip. Repeat the process until the desired pH is achieved.

Learn more
Bamboo is a plant belonging to the Poaceae family. Adapted to many climates, it is found naturally almost everywhere on the planet, except Europe and Antarctica. Although bamboo is woody, it is not a tree. This giant grass grows extremely quickly. Its roots, or more precisely its rhizomes, allow it to spread in clumps and even invade gardens and streams.
Its high silica content gives it remarkable rigidity. Bamboo wood is therefore very strong and durable. Nevertheless, it rarely breaks and has surprising flexibility. Both flexible and strong, this wood is ideal for a wide range of uses, including ornamental, construction and decorative applications.
As a cosmetic ingredient, bamboo sap is valued for its high plant silica content, which helps regenerate and tone the skin and hair, while providing a soft, mattifying feel.

EO = Essential Oil VO = Vegetable Oil or Oily Macerate
1 to 2 tablespoons of sesame oil (depending on the desired consistency)
1 level tablespoon of shea butter
3 teaspoons of old rose floral water
1 teaspoon of bamboo sap powder
1 teaspoon of vegetable glycerin
9 drops of geranium essential oil (1% dilution)
6 drops of grapefruit seed extract
2 drops of natural vitamin E essential oil
Method: Mix the butter and oil with a pestle until you obtain a smooth, creamy mixture with no lumps. Gradually add the floral water while emulsifying. Add the glycerin to give the mixture shine and smoothness, then add the bamboo sap. Finally, add the remaining ingredients and mix.
Important notes (Aroma-Zone): It is not easy to make a stable emulsion (cream, milk) without an emulsifier. We recommend adding an emulsifier.
