Macadamia integrifolia, or Queensland walnut, is a slow-growing tree native to eastern Australia. The Australian Aborigines, who called the nuts "gyndl" or "jindilli", traded this protein-rich nut with the first white settlers on the east coast of Australia, who exported the nuts all over the world. Today, the macadamia is a naturalized tree in many countries, including Kenya, Hawaii andSouth Africa , where it is grown for its sweet, oily nut, eaten raw or toasted, and for its high-quality wood , used in cabinet-making.
Very similar to sweet almond oil in its properties, macadamia oil has the advantage of being very well absorbed by the skin and perfectly dry to the touch. Its texture means it can be used to create penetrating skin care products that are non-greasy to the touch. Rich in cell-protecting oleic acid and palmitoleic acid, this gentle oil is also nourishing, softening and soothing. It is traditionally used to care for fragile skin, to make massage oils for stretch marks and scars, and for hair and hand care (cracked, chapped skin). Macadamia oil can also be used to formulate massage oils for skin prone to redness.

Premium product
Aroma-Zone strives to offer you products of the highest possible quality, whether in terms of their composition, their richness in active ingredients, their scent, their type of cultivation, their geographical origin, the way they are obtained, the quality of the producer's work, as well as their remarkable ethical credentials in a sustainable development approach.
We seek out rare, and sometimes even exclusive, product qualities by contacting suppliers in the four corners of the world and buying directly from producers, always ensuring favourable economic conditions for our partners. In order to highlight some of our exceptional quality products and to share as much information as possible about them, we have decided to create an "exceptional product" label.
Our organic macadamia oil, from a sustainable and fair-trade production chain in Kenya, is one of these exceptional products.
A subsistence industry
Often, the small Macadamia nuts that cannot be sold to the organic food industry because of their small size are used to produce the oil. It is in the foothills of the mountains in this region where the calophyllums grow, these large majestic trees, most of which are over a hundred years old, that the fruit is harvested in a way that respects nature. In Kenya, these nuts are collected by small-scale African farmers living in the Kenyan highlands, who sort and sell them to supplement their income.Macadamia oil comes directly from this subsistence sector.
The producer of this oil encourages this local economy by providing the farmers withnut harvesting points in the villages. Each farmer is paid according to the quantity of nuts brought in. Through this fair trade, we are helping to improve the daily lives of these small-scale farmers and their families.
An ideal base oil
With itssweet, pleasant hazelnut scent, Macadamia oil is a perfect base oil for massages, as well as for face, body and hair care. Rich in oleic acid and palmitoleic acid, the oil has nourishing, healing and softening properties. It is ideal for targeting sensitive, damaged skin, for stretch marks and cracked skin, for example. When massaged into the skin, it is reputed to aid local micro-circulation and tone the lymphatic system, so you can incorporate it into your treatments for rosacea or to relieve heavy legs. What's more, Macadamia oil has the advantage of penetrating the skin quickly and feeling perfectly dry to the touch.
Storage
Stable carrier oil.
Store in a dry place away from heat and light.
Precautions
Macadamia nuts can cause allergies, particularly in people sensitive to nuts.
Ask your doctor for advice before use.
