Properties

As a cosmetic ingredient, organic coconut carrier oil is known for the following properties:

  • Delicately and naturally scented, this coconut oil has been selected for its very mild fragrance that is natural and smells like the sweet fragrance of coconut (no rancid smell).

  • Highly moisturising, coconut oil considerably reduces skin dehydration.

  • Soothing and gentle, it calms skin prone to redness and overheating due to the sun.

  • Widely used in soap-making, it gives soaps lathering and cleansing properties as well as making them hard too.

Indications

  • Dry and damaged skin

  • Chapped skin

  • Rough skin lacking elasticity

Uses

For use as an ingredient in the following blends:

  • Luscious body care oils or balms

  • Nourishing exfoliating balms

  • Tanning oils or aftersun repair oils

  • Cold-saponified homemade soaps (increases foaming power)

Synergies

  • For a luxury "All coconut" treatment: coconut pulp, aromatic coconut extract, etc.

  • For black skin care : yangu, Brazil nut, Kalahari melon carrier oils, shea butter, etc.

  • For luxury scents: cocoa, tucuma, cupuaçu butter, etc.

In practice

  • This oil tends to solidify at temperatures below 25°C. This phenomenon has no effect on its quality. We recommend warming it up if necessary before incorporating it into your mixture by running it under a stream of warm water to liquefy it.

  • Can be mixed into your oil blend and applied daily to the face, neck and neckline.

  • As an oil phase in body and face creams.

  • Organic coconut carrier oil can also be incorporated into a ready-to-use AZ Neutral Base at a maximum level of 5% to make:

    • an emulsion: with Organic Neutral Plant Milk, Organic Neutral Rejuvenating Creams and Organic Moisturising Creams

    • an aqueous gel: with organic aloe vera gel

    • a foaming product: with Organic Neutral Cleansing Cream

    • a soap: with a Melt & Pour Soap Base

  • At a dosage of between 30 and 95% to make:

    • a micellar oil: with a High Concentrate Micellar Base

Our coconut oil is the fruit of a lengthy selection process by Aroma-Zone with producers all over the world, in order to bring you this wonderful oil that delicately blends mellowness and a heavenly scent. Obtained by pressing fresh coconut using an artisanal process, the coconut oil we offer is virgin, unrefined and has retained that familiar truly exotic smell of coconut. It should not be confused with copra oil, which is obtained by pressing sun-dried coconut and has a strong rancid odour, requiring refining.
