Use as an ingredient in your blends
This castor oil-based macerated oil naturally has a very viscous texture and a greasy, slightly sticky feel. It is used diluted, at a rate of 1 to 30%, as a mixture in your oil blends. To reduce the oily effect, combine it with oils with a "drier" feel, such as jojoba, desert date, macadamia or kukui.
It can be incorporated into the oil phase when making emulsions (creams, lotions).
It can be mixed with carrier oils and plant butters, and possibly waxes, to make oils, serums, balms, sticks, etc.
Synergies
For a repairing effect (dry skin) : shea butter, rose hip, camelina, touloucouna, tamanu, oat, and wheat germ carrier oils, cosmetic active ingredients phytosterol concentrate, Bisabolol (oil-soluble), Skin Repair BIO and dragon blood extract (the latter 2 are not oil-soluble, to be used in emulsion only), true lavender, and myrrh essential oils.
To brighten the complexion: Rose hip, chaulmoogra, and lily macerated essential oils, celery and carrot essential oils, Melano'regul cosmetic active ingredients and active radiance and brightening concentrate (in emulsion only, these 2 active ingredients are not oil-soluble).
For make-up removers: hydrosols, ‘dry’ carrier oils to thin this viscous macerated oil: Jojoba, desert date, macadamia, kukui.
For lip care: Shea, cocoa, kpangnan, Sal. butters.
To make glosses: Gloss base, Miroir de Sucre, plant-based lanolin substitute.
To make sticks and lipsticks: Stick base, carnauba wax, candelilla wax, beeswax.
Hair care
Used as an ingredient for making:
Oil baths: mixed with botanical oils and even essential oils: apply a few drops to the scalp with gentle massages, then coat the hair, strand by strand, with 1-2 tablespoons of your mixture, focusing on the ends. Wrap the hair in a warm towel. Leave on for some time (20 minutes - 1 hour) then use a gentle shampoo.
Scalp friction serums: mixed with your oil blend: apply a few drops to the scalp and perform gentle circular massages for a few minutes. Leave on for 15 minutes to 1 hour then shampoo.
Serums for hair ends: mixed with your oil blend
Can be incorporated as an oil phase in the preparation of emulsions for hair care: hair conditioners, masks, hair creams (made for example with Plant-based Conditioner or BTMS emulsifiers).
Synergies
To nourish, protectively coat and strengthen hair: coconut, sapote, pracaxi, avocado, Abyssinian, argan, jojoba, piqui, broccoli, hibiscus and marula carrier oils, mango, murumuru and tucuma butters.
To combat hair loss and stimulate growth: mustard, coconut, chaulmoogra, and nigella carrier oils, kombo butter, bay rum tree, grapefruit, clary sage, Atlas cedar, Mediterranean cypress, ginger, and rosemary cineole essential oils.
To combat dandruff: neem, touloucouna, and chaulmoogra carrier oils, geranium, bay laurel, palmarosa, tea tree, and cade juniper essential oils.
To combat the appearance of premature grey hair: amla, nagarmotha, and bhringaraj powders.
For nail care: borage carrier oil, lemon essential oil.

A staple of Ayurvedic tradition, amla, also known as the 'Indian gooseberry', is the fruit of the Emblica officinalis tree, which grows in Nepal, India and Sri Lanka, where it is considered sacred. Amla fruit is known for its powerful antioxidant and tonic properties, thanks to its richness in vitamin C, flavonoids and tannins. In India, amla is particularly popular for use in hair care: it is used to strengthen and beautify hair, stimulate hair growth and prevent the appearance of grey hair.
Amla is used both in powder form, incorporated into shampoos or plant-based hair masks, and in oil form. The famous ‘Amla oil’ that is so popular with Indian women is actually a macerated oil of amla, which is unfortunately often based on mineral oils (paraffin oils).
We have chosen to offer you a more natural version, by combining amla with castor carrier oil, also highly reputed for strengthening and nourishing hair and stimulating hair growth, to create an exceptional hair cosmetic ingredient. This organic amla macerated oil is made by our Indian supplier using organic amla fruit and 100% pure, natural organic castor oil. The maceration process involves heating the fruit in a controlled manner to extract the active ingredients optimally without adversely affecting their quality. We are offering a 100% natural organic ‘amla oil’, without any mineral oil or added fragrance, which combines the synergy of castor oil and amla to produce an exceptional hair ingredient. This macerated oil should be mixed with your oil blends to create an oil mask for leaving on the hair before shampooing.
