Why choose Aroma-Zone ORGANIC Chaga extract capsules?
Concentrated extract of chaga titrated to 30% polysaccharides: for this dietary supplement, we have not chosen a raw chaga powder, whose chitin content can be problematic, but a concentrated extract obtained by a process in line with traditional use, to extract the active ingredients of the mushroom without the insoluble chitin.
Water extraction, solvent-free process
100% pure, additive- and carrier-free chaga extract
High 500 mg content of chaga extract per capsule, for effective intake at a rate of 1 to 2 capsules a day
Chaga harvested exclusively from wild birch trees in the forests of the Greater Khingan Mountains in the autonomous region of Inner Mongolia. Chaga is harvested by hand from living trees that are several years old. These trees are harvested responsibly to preserve the natural resource.
Certified organic chaga extract of the highest quality, analysed by an independent laboratory for each batch to guarantee conformity in terms of heavy metals, absence of contaminants and pesticides, microbiological purity and physico-chemical parameters. Radioactivity is also tested and found to be well below standards. Mushrooms from other regions are known to have a higher radioactivity.
Why take Chaga?
Chaga is reputed to support the body's natural defences.
Chaga helps to strengthen the body and maintain health with age.
Rich in anti-inflammatory active ingredients, Chaga may be beneficial for digestive and intestinal comfort.
What are the active ingredients in Chaga?
Hundreds of different active compounds have been identified in chaga, contributing synergistically to its many benefits, including:
Polysaccharides (beta-glucans, xylogalactoglucose, etc.): these are the best-known active ingredients in chaga, and the ones that are titrated to guarantee the extract is concentrated. For optimum effectiveness, we have selected an extract with a high polysaccharide content of 30% . Studies have highlighted the many biological effects of chaga polysaccharides, particularly in modulating and supporting the body's natural defences and maintaining a healthy digestive system.
Flavonoids and polyphenols (3,4-dihydroxybenzalacetone, inonoblins A, phelligridins D, etc.), known for their powerful antioxidant properties.
Triterpenes (inotodiol, lanosterol, inonotsuoxide)
Terpenes (p-hydroxybenzoic acid, ferulic acid, foscoperianol D, syringic acid, vanillic acid, etc.)
Sterols (dihydrolanosterol, β-sitosterol, episterol, ergosterol peroxide, fecosterol, etc.)
Betulin and betulinic acid, which the fungus recovers from the sap of the birch tree it colonises
Melanin, which gives the fungus its dark brown colour
Minerals and trace elements (potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, manganese, zinc, selenium, etc.)

Also known as Polypore obliquus, or by its botanical name Inonotus obliquus, Chaga is a fungus from the Hymenochaetaceae family that grows on birch trees by settling in places where the tree is injured. It can also be found on alders, beeches, elms and oaks, but only Chaga harvested from birch trees is known for its properties, thanks to the active ingredients it derives from birch sap, in particular betulin and betulinic acid. It grows naturally on trees in taiga and boreal forests, and is found mainly in northern China, northern Russia, Canada and the Baltic States .
We have chosen an extract of wild-growing Chaga, hand-harvested in the forests of the Greater Khingan Mountains, in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the far north of China, close to the Russian border. Birch trees are abundant in this heavily forested wilderness, and the cold, semi-arid climate is ideal for the development of Chaga.
For optimum concentration of active ingredients, our Chaga is only harvested from wild, living birch trees after several years' growth. Cultivated chaga, harvested too early or from dead trees, does not have the same richness of active ingredients. Chaga appears as a relatively shapeless, hard, dark mass attached to the tree and develops like a parasite over the years. It can persist for 10 to 80 years or more until the tree dies. The inside of the fungus is an ochre-brown to orange colour. Underneath this unattractive appearance, Chaga is exceptionally rich in active ingredients: polysaccharides and beta-glucans, betulin, betulinic acid, polyphenols and flavonoids, terpenes and triterpenes, sterols, melanin, etc.
Renowned for its medicinal properties, Chaga has been traditionally consumed for hundreds of years by the peoples of Siberia and Northern Europe, as well as the indigenous peoples of Alaska and Canada. The preferred method of use is decoction, meaning that the pieces of Chaga are boiled for a long time in water to extract the active ingredients.
Chaga pieces are very hard and are not edible as they are, nor is it advisable to consume them in the form of raw powder, as the mushroom's natural high chitin content reduces the assimilation of the active ingredients and can cause intestinal inflammation. On the contrary, once extracted with water, whether in the form of a decoction or a concentrated powdered extract, the active ingredients in Chaga are particularly interesting for their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. That's why it's important to choose a food supplement prepared from a concentrated extract of water-extracted Chaga, and not from raw Chaga powder. Concentrated extracts are normally titrated in polysaccharides, Chaga's recognised active ingredients. For optimum efficacy, we have chosen a highly concentrated extract with 30% polysaccharides. Known as a medicinal mushroom in the same way as Reishi, Cordyceps, Maïtake or Shiitake, Chaga has many traditional uses. In traditional Russian and Chinese pharmacopoeia, Chaga is recommended as a general tonic, but also in cases of gastric or intestinal irritation. In Japan, it is known as an immunomodulator and is also used to support chemotherapy. Cited by Alexander Solzhenitsyn in his novel "The Pavilion of Cancer", Chaga is sometimes nicknamed "Solzhenitsyn's mushroom". Today, in the absence of human clinical data, it is not possible to make any claims about Chaga in Europe. Nevertheless, an increasing number of scientific studies are highlighting interesting properties for Chaga extracts: in vitro and sometimes in-vivo.

Frequently Asked Questions
You can take your Chaga capsules at any time of day, but for best absorption, it is advisable to take this food supplement with a meal. If you take 2 capsules, you can also choose to take one capsule in the morning and one in the evening, for example.
The recommended dose is 1 to 2 capsules of Chaga extract daily, which corresponds to 500 to 1000 mg of polysaccharide-concentrated Chaga extract daily. This dose has been calculated on the basis of available data to ensure optimum efficacy and safety of use. It is important not to consume excessively high doses of Chaga, as its natural oxalate content could cause kidney problems.
Depending on whether you take 1 or 2 capsules a day, one jar of Aroma-Zone Organic Chaga Extract food supplements will last 30 to 60 days, i.e. 1 to 2 months' intake. There is no strict rule regarding the duration of a chaga treatment, but we recommend starting with a 1-month treatment, then if you wish, restarting the treatment after a 1- or 2-week break.
We recommend taking Chaga extract in 1-month treatments, with breaks of at least 1-2 week(s) between 2-month treatments.
No, Chaga is not recommended during pregnancy or when breast-feeding.
