Frequently Asked Questions
Collagen and hyaluronic acid are two natural components of the extracellular matrix, but with very distinct roles: collagen, a protein, provides structural support to tissues, whilst hyaluronic acid, a polysaccharide, retains water to keep tissues hydrated and functional. When taken orally, collagen improves firmness, whilst hyaluronic acid improves elasticity and hydration. Because their actions complement each other, it makes sense to combine them in the same skincare routine.
According to Dr Nina Roos, Dermatologist (from the book *SOIN, la peau* by Aroma-Zone), menopause often brings dryness, discomfort, and sagging skin. To address loss of elasticity in the lower face, she recommends natural retinol (bakuchiol or retinal), which is better tolerated than synthetic retinol on mature skin, as well as low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid serums, which can help improve skin elasticity. To combat dry skin and the associated itching, she recommends skincare products enriched with ceramides and essential fatty acids, such as the Lipid-Restoring Balm.
Rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamins, plant-based oils nourish and protect the skin whilst giving it a healthy glow. Rosehip oil, particularly rich in omega-3, omega-6, and carotenoids, promotes cell renewal: it improves elasticity, reduces wrinkles and dark spots, and nourishes the skin without leaving it feeling heavy. Applied undiluted in the morning and/or evening to clean, dry skin, it makes an excellent regenerating treatment.
Spilanthes Plant Concentrated Serum, which combines hyaluronic acid, cacay oil, Astragalus root extract and a complex of spilanthes and butterfly lavender, helps to retain moisture, reduce wrinkles and even out skin texture.
For an instant plumping effect, 100% Hyaluronic Acid serum pearls are a good option: their high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid molecules fill and smooth fine lines and wrinkles by forming a smoothing film on the skin’s surface, while the low-molecular-weight molecules penetrate deeper for long-lasting hydration.
