A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial of Ceramosides™ involved over 30 women aged 50 to 60 who were going through menopause. Collagen and hyaluronic acid are both natural components of the extracellular matrix that ensure the cohesion, strength and elasticity of our skin. However, they are very different molecules that play different roles in this matrix: collagen is a protein that provides tissue structure, while hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide that helps keep tissues functional, hydrated, and lubricated by retaining water. When taken orally, marine collagen helps to improve skin firmness, whilst hyaluronic acid improves skin elasticity and hydration. These two substances act differently within our bodies.
