This thick oil, obtained by cold-pressing wheat germ, has a very mild, pleasant cereal fragrance. It contains carotenoids, which give it its beautiful yellow colour and are a very important factor in preparing skin for exposure to the sun.
Rich in omega-6, it is also a very important source of vitamin E (known for soothing the skin and, above all, for preventing the signs of ageing) and is useful for limiting the appearance of wrinkles. Also active against loss of skin elasticity, it is recommended for face and décolleté care.
Highly nourishing and protective, it is beneficial for dehydrated and dry skin. This oil is a good ingredient for formulating intensive skin care products for dry to very dry skin.
Thanks to its high vitamin E and essential fatty acid content (over 60%), it is widely used as a carrier ingredient in aromatherapy.
Wheat germ oil helps repair tissues. It is traditionally recommended for use in preventive treatments to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks, in products for chapped skin and in oils for massaging scars.
Carrier oil sensitive to oxidation. Store in a cool place (< 20°C) away from air and light.
