As a cosmetic ingredient, organic avocado oil is recognised for the following properties:

  • Softening, protective, and very gentle, it restores elasticity and comfort to the skin and takes care of delicate skin

  • Regenerating and restructuring, it combats signs of skin ageing

  • It nourishes the skin and protects it against harsh conditions (cold, wind, etc.)

  • Repairing and soothing, it works wonders on skin prone to discomfort and helps combat stretch marks

  • It adds softness and creaminess to soaps

  • Dry, devitalised, flaky, distended skin

  • Delicate skin (neck, around the eyes)

  • Mature skin

  • Helps combat stretch marks

Uses

Use as an ingredient in your blends:

  • Protective care for sensitive and fine skin (e.g. face, neck, eye contour)

  • Anti-wrinkle preparations for dry and mature skin

  • Repair creams for dry hands

  • Preventive and curative care for stretch marks

  • Mild soaps

In practice

Organic avocado oil can be used:

  • Mixed with other carrier oils and possibly essential oils to formulate care or massage oils.

  • In combination with butters and possibly waxes for the formulation of body balms.

  • As an oil phase in the composition of creams and lotions for hands, body and face.

Organic avocado carrier oil can also be incorporated into a ready-made neutral AZ base at up to 5% maximum to create:

  • An emulsion: with Organic Neutral Plant Milk, Organic Youth Neutral Cream and Hydrating Neutral Cream, Organic Neutral Hair Mask Base.

  • An aqueous gel: with Organic Aloe Vera Gel

  • A foaming product: with Organic Neutral Cleansing Cream

  • Appearance: thick oily liquid, sometimes cloudy, which may naturally have a pulpy texture and contain plant deposits. This botanical oil may also partially solidify when exposed to cold, due to its fatty acid composition.

  • Colour: yellow to dark green

  • Odour: mild and pleasant

  • Feel: greasy. If you wish to improve its absorption into the skin, mix it with a more penetrating oil (Kukui, Macadamia, Hazelnut, Jojoba, etc.)

The avocado is the fruit of theavocado tree (Persea americana), a member of the Lauraceae family native toNorth America (Mexico).

Numerous writings mention the plant's use by the Aztecs, who used the flesh of the fruit to protect their skin from the drying winds. They also applied it to their hair to encourage growth and made ointments to delay the onset of old age.

  • Chilean rosehip seed carrier oil: 2.5 ml

  • Argan or avocado carrier oil: 5 ml

  • Corn starch: 5 ml

Use: Melt the butters and beeswax in a bain-marie. Add the cornstarch and carrier oils. Using a wire whisk and whisk the mixture until well blended. Heat gently for a few moments. Allow to cool, then add the essential oils. Whisk again, then transfer to one or more glass jars. Label the jars.
