How to prepare your candle

Step 1
Melt the wax(es) in a double boiler over low heat, then remove from the double boiler.

Step 2
Cut the cotton wick to a length of 9 cm for this candle glass. Then, "prime" the cotton wick by dipping it in melted wax for 2 minutes.

Step 3
Remove the wick and place it flat and straight on a sheet of aluminum foil.

Step 4
Shape the wick so that it adheres as well as possible to the aluminum foil, keeping it straight at all times. Leave the wick to cool on the aluminum foil in the freezer.

Step 5
Meanwhile, add the vegetable oils, plant powders, essential oils, and fragrances to your still-liquid wax mixture, then mix.

Step 6
Remove the wick from the freezer and peel it off the aluminum foil. It should be straight and rigid (if not, you will need to start the "priming" process again).

Step 7
Place the wick in the hole in the metal base provided for this purpose.

Step 8
Pinch the base of the holder with pliers or scissors to secure the wick in place.

Step 9
Pour the cold mixture (in a paste form but liquid enough to pour) into the candle glass.

Step 10
Once the mixture has been poured, immediately place the wick in the center, ensuring that the metal base touches the bottom of the glass.

Step 11
Allow the candle to set at room temperature for at least 3 hours.
Which essential oils, absolutes, or fragrances should you use in your candles?
In natural candles, the scent comes mainly from essential oils and/or natural cosmetic fragrances. However, be sure to follow the technical data sheet for each ingredient and always check its flash point, which must be above 65°C to prevent your candle from catching fire across its entire surface.
In this regard and for safety reasons:
All substances containing alcohol should be avoided. Aromatic extracts and some cosmetic fragrances ("Lemon Tart," "Mysore," and "Milky Sweetness") are not recommended for candles, even if alcohol is sometimes present in very small quantities. We recommend using a maximum of 5-10% fragrances and/or essential oils in total in your candles. It is possible to use an essential oil with a flash point below 65°C, but it must be added to another essential oil or fragrance with a flash point above 65°C so that the average is equivalent to 65°C (be sure to calculate the flash point in proportion to the concentration of the desired essential oils).
Essential oils: Pink peppercorn, Holy Basil, Linalool sweet basil, Linalool Berry, Magnolia
Absolutes : Frangipani Absolute, undefined, Jasmine Sambac Absolute, Mimosa Flower Absolute, undefined, Osmanthus Flowers Absolute, Damask Rose Floral Wax, Tonka Bean Absolute
Cosmetic fragrances: Baby Doll Natural Fragrance, Bee Happy Natural Fragrance, Hinoki Wood Natural Fragrance, Cocosun Natural Fragrance, Silky Milk Natural Fragrance, Oriental Softness Natural Fragrance, Divine Vanilla Natural Fragrance, Lily Of the Valley Fairy Natural Fragrance, Natural Monoï Fragrance, Wild Blackberry Natural Fragrance, Provence Musk Natural Fragrance, Mysore Natural Fragrance, Rose Petals Natural Fragrance, Happy Apple Natural Fragrance, Summer Natural Fragrance, Natural Fragrance Amber Treasure

Perfect
What I wish
These DIY candle holders are great. I'll definitely buy them again.
good but price/quality ratio a little high
I didn't expect it to be so small but it's cool. It looks good. It goes well with the thin wick I have, the wax melts evenly.
