Osmanthus Flowers Absolute

• A subtle and delicate blend of fruit and flowers, Osmanthus flower absolute brings an exotic floral flavour tinged with fruity notes of apricot to feminine compositions.

  Generally reserved for fine perfumery, it brings a fruity Asian emotion, very slightly coppery to the perfumer's palette.

• Osmanthus blends very well with vanilla and sandalwood to bring delicate, powdery base notes.

• Frequently found in the composition of

  • Fruity floral compositions evoking Asia and its rare flowers in combination with citrus fruits (pink grapefruit, blood orange, etc.) or sweeter fruits (lychee, kumquat, etc.).

  • Fresh, invigorating and light citrus notes where Osmanthus reveals exotic fruity notes, adding a sweeter, sparkling touch.

  • Warm and sensual Orientals where Osmanthus brings a slightly leathery wildness without any animal heaviness.

A few ideas

• Prepare a eau de parfum that is half floral, half fruity, with a sweet Asian fragrance like in Fresh's Saké, where you'll find Osmanthus combined with Grapefruit, Langsat (an Asian fruit similar to lychee) and the fruity scents of Peach, all enhanced with Vanilla and Sandalwood in the base notes.

• Create dynamic and colourful eau de toilette by combining Osmanthus with citrus top notes (bergamot, mandarin, etc.). Enhance them with a floral bouquet of magnolia and iris to create a refreshing, feminine fragrance like Ralph Girl by Ralph Lauren.

• Create a fresh, spicy and invigorating fragrance in the style of a cologne by combining citrus notes with Osmanthus.

• Combined with the woody notes of patchouli and refreshed by hints of chili pepper and violet, the apricot notes of osmanthus allow you to compose amber fragrances without heavy animal notes, as in Ultraviolet by Paco Rabanne.

• Solubility:

  • Osmanthus flower absolute is perfectly soluble in 90° alcohol and fats (vegetable oils and butters).

  • However, it is insoluble in water.

• Handling:

  • This absolute is liquid. For ease of use and dosing, we recommend using the pipette provided with the bottle to measure out the absolute.

  • Wash your equipment with alcohol.

Beauty

• Cosmetic active ingredient: as an ingredient in the formulation of your cosmetic preparations, you can incorporate Osmanthus Flower Absolute directly at the end of the formula, in your cosmetic preparations (creams, lotions, shampoos, and hair balms, etc.) at a concentration of 0.1 to 0.3%.

• Solubility:

  • Osmanthus flower absolute is perfectly soluble in emulsions, fats (oils, vegetable butters, and balms), and cleansing bases.

  • However, it is insoluble in water and aqueous gels.

• Handling:

  • This absolute is liquid. For ease of use and dosing, we recommend using the pipette provided with the bottle to measure out the absolute.

  • Wash your equipment with soapy water and then rinse with alcohol.

Organoleptic properties

• Appearance: clear, mobile liquid

• Colour: orange-brown

• Smell: sweet, honeyed, tangy yellow fruit. Its slightly leathery aspect comes through in the base note, adding a light amber note.

Precautions

• Certain natural compounds contained in this absolute may present a risk of allergy for some sensitive individuals when the absolute is incorporated into a cosmetic composition (according to the 7th Amendment of the European Directive on cosmetic products (2003/15/EC)): geraniol, linalool.

• As a general rule, always test your preparation on the inside of your elbow at least 48 hours before use.

• Dangerous. Follow the precautions for use.

• Harmful if swallowed. May cause skin allergy. Causes skin irritation (risk associated with the product in its pure form). Toxic to aquatic organisms, causes long-term adverse effects (in the event of a large spill of the product into a watercourse).
