Preparation

Make an emulsion, gel or foaming product (shampoo, shower gel...) with spirulina

Spirulina can be dispersed at 1 to 5% as an active ingredient in all your water-based formulas: creams, lotions, gels, toners...

Make a spirulina face mask or body wrap

Spirulina can be incorporated up to 30% in a blend of powders intended for the preparation of face masks or body wraps.

Extraction process

Cultivated in closed, ventilated ponds under the supervision of experienced microbiologists, in water with controlled quality. After water filtration, the Spirulina is washed, then dried at low temperature to preserve its properties and nutrient content, and finally ground into a fine powder.

Formerly known as a blue or blue-green algae, Spirulina is in fact a cyanobacterium from the Cyanophyceae family a type of bacteria capable of photosynthesis. It is particularly rich in chlorophyll, but also in phycocyanin, a bluish pigment that also plays a role in photosynthesis. Spirulina appears as a spiral-shaped filament and naturally grows in tropical or subtropical waters, such as lakes or lagoons. It thrives in brackish and alkaline waters (salty, but less than seawater), which are rich in minerals and trace elements, and it requires both heat and light to perform photosynthesis. Today, due to high demand in both food and cosmetic industries, Spirulina is cultivated in ponds under controlled water conditions.

Storage

Store away from air, moisture, and light. Reseal the container tightly after each use.
