Originally from Central Asia, the cultivation of hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) quickly spread to neighbouring regions, first reaching India, then Africa and Europe, before finally reaching America. As it spread, the plant gradually adapted to many different environments, increasing its ability to resist and adapt to different conditions. Today, hemp comprises several species with different chemical compositions, and is one of the oldest cultivated plants.
Thanks to its extraordinary properties, hemp was initially used in a variety of sectors, notably for the manufacture of textile fibres, but also in traditional medicine and the food industry.
But over the course of the 20th century, with the arrival of competing materials deemed to be more effective, such as synthetic fibres, as well as the strict regulations gradually applied to its cultivation due to the plant's use as a narcotic, hemp gradually fell into oblivion in Western Europe. However, it continued to be grown in certain regions of north-eastern Europe, as well as in Asia.
Hemp has nonetheless enjoyed a resurgence in popularity in recent years, largely due to the growing demand for sustainable fibres. Hemp cultivation is attractive because of its high yield and relative ease of use: it can be grown in a wide variety of environments and conditions. What's more, hemp and its derivatives are now used in a number of industries, including textiles, cosmetics, agriculture and pharmaceuticals. Finally, as it requires almost no pesticides to grow, it is considered to be more natural than other crops.

Excellent product, I recommend it!
Not used yet, it's to make protein cereal bars
Very good!
Powder not as described, green leaf powder and not seed powder as I thought. Reported to customer service who couldn't care less about my expert opinion and persist in the so-called quality of seed powder which should be light brown like the hemp seeds sold by other distributors.
