Ayurveda, or ayurvedic medicine, is a comprehensive sacred therapeutic science that has been used for over 5,000 years in India. It is also a philosophy and a way of life. In Sanskrit, "ayur" means "life" and "veda" means "science or knowledge" . Discovered by the rishis or great sages of the Himalayas through observation of nature and the five elements (water, earth, fire, air, space or ether), it is based on the concept of the three doshas**(vâta,**
pitta and kapha) which are each made up of two elements. Each individual is born with their own proportion of each dosha, often with one or two doshas predominating. The aim of ayurveda is to live in harmony with your basic constitution, to know what helps you to stay healthy, and happy, which will keep your skin looking amazing, but also to learn to spot anything that makes you ill or unhappy. To ensure that your constitution is in balance, you need to choose activities, foods or plants that are the opposite of the characteristics of your predominant doshas and therefore soothe the predominant doshas.
Nagarmotha, or musta in Sanskrit, is an Indian variety of purple nutsedge, a plant in the Cyperaceae family that grows in marshy areas or rivers. Nagarmotha may be derived from two species of tiger nuts, Cyperus rotundus or Cyperus scariosus, which produce tubers that are high in active substances and aromatic compounds. In ayurvedic tradition, nagarmotha is considered to be one of the best plants for relieving menstrual pain and regulating the female menstrual cycle. It is also traditionally used to boost digestion, relieve stomach aches and stimulate the liver while calming pitta, or to combat intestinal parasites and stop diarrhoea.
High in tannins and natural antioxidant and purifying active ingredients, nagarmotha is also very effective in cosmetics. It is specifically reputed to purify and regulate oily skin and scalps, and is used to treat dandruff-prone scalps, acne-prone skin and delicate skin. Its active antioxidants also make it a prime cosmetic ingredient for preventing the skin from the signs of premature ageing caused by oxidative stress.

Frequently Asked Questions
Ayurvedic powder of Nagarmotha BIO Hello, I am addressing the Aroma-zone service directly by writing this short message. I would like to know when this powder will stop being out of stock, it has been several months since I set an alert in order to be notified of its availability, and since all this time still nothing :( This powder is truly magical both by its woody smell and by its faculties, it has been part of my hair routine for a few years now.. In the hope of having an answer from you, very respectfully.
SCENTED AND SOOTHING I discovered this powder to treat my dandruff and itchy scalp problems. And I was pleasantly surprised! I love the smell of this powder and my scalp is healthier. It really works for me, it relieves me. I use it before my shampoo as a hair mask with neutral Henna and nettle powder to regulate sebum. I still recommend using an organic liquid shampoo to remove residue.
Skin purification Mixed with rhassoul, good feeling of cleanliness after applying as a mask on the face. Spicy smell that surprises. To see effectiveness in the long term. Satisfied for the moment.
Perfect I use it for my hair powder masks. I love it, however I find it quite expensive for what's in it. Doesn't leave powder in the hair after rinsing, I love it.
Nagarmotha I use it at 50% in my hair mixes, alternating with other powders. Combined with henna, sidr, indigo... Leave for several hours. It makes my hair very shiny and perfumes it pleasantly. No effect on the volume for me (fine, curly hair) or on the spacing of shampoos (oily hair) A very good powder that said, it darkens by a tone, perfect for reducing the red highlights of henna.
