The Açaí berry is the fruit of the Euterpe oleracea palm, a tree native to South America that thrives in the swampy areas of tropical forests in Venezuela, French Guiana, Surinam, Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador. In the Amazon, it is traditionally known as içà-çai or “weeping fruit,” though its name varies depending on the region. Celebrated for the extraordinary properties of its fruit, Açaí has earned its place among the so-called “superfruits,” recognised for their high concentration of nutrients and vitamins, their powerful antioxidant activity, and their numerous health benefits.
In Amazonia, the heart of palm is eaten as a vegetable, the fruit harvested by hand from the tops of the trees is prepared to make 'Açaí wine' and is used as ink and natural colouring, while the wood is used to build houses. Ethnobotanists have listed no fewer than 22 different uses for all parts of the palm. In traditional Brazilian medicine, the oil from the fruit is used to treat intestinal discomfort, the infusion from the roots is used to treat jaundice, the infusion from the grated fruit is used as a cleansing treatment for skin ulcers, while the infusion from the crushed seeds is used to treat fever. In Peru, acai was also traditionally used to treat a range of ailments including diabetes, hepatitis, jaundice and fever, and to combat hair loss, bleeding, liver and kidney disease, as well as muscular and menstrual discomfort. Today, the pulp of the acai tree provides an oil that is very popular in cosmetics for its well-known anti-ageing properties. It naturally contains tannins and phenolic acids, compounds with well-known anti-free radical properties. Incorporated into anti-ageing skin care products, acai oil is the ideal carrier oil for combating oxidative stress and fighting the signs of ageing. Its composition in fatty acids and phytosterols helps to rebalance the skin's lipid content, leaving it more toned and silky. Its nourishing and protective properties can be combined with your hair care products to restore your hair's shine and strength.

Frequently Asked Questions
Nourishes well, added to a day cream. To reduce the tone
Very pleasant. It greatly soothes the skin around my eyes and the rest of my face. The only downside is the dark color, but since I use it at night, it's not a problem. I still put a towel on my pillow.
Even though it's a small bottle, it's a very good product.
I add it to the Nigella oil for my face every evening...
