When should I take the Marine Iodine food supplement?
Iodine, an essential trace element for our bodies, must be supplied to our thyroid gland in sufficient quantities to keep it functioning properly. Iodine is essential for the synthesis of thyroid hormones, which control the body's metabolism and many other vital functions.
Adequate iodine intake is therefore particularly important for the following reasons:
To generally support normal thyroid function.
During pregnancy or breastfeeding. Pregnancy requires a greater synthesis of thyroid hormones, and foetuses and infants need iodine, as it plays a part in their cognitive and physical development. Supplementation for pregnant or breastfeeding women should always be carried out under medical supervision.
For athletes, who eliminate a great deal of iodine through perspiration, and who also need it to guarantee optimal physical performance.
To maintain cognitive functions such as concentration, memory and reasoning.
To bolster the hair regeneration process and prevent hair loss. As it is responsible for regenerating hair follicles, a lack of iodine can create an imbalance that could lead to hair loss.
Products for skin and nails. Dry skin can be linked to a reduced rate of skin cell regeneration due to a drop in thyroid hormone levels. A reduced metabolism has an impact on the amount of sweat produced by the body, which plays a role in maintaining moisture in the skin and nails.
For vegans who do not eat the foods richest in iodine (fish, seafood, dairy products, etc.).
To supplement diets that are low in salt, as it may not be possible to obtain sufficient iodine directly from everyday foods.
To help with slimming diets, as regulating cell metabolism allows food components such as sugars and fats to be used and broken down.
What are the benefits of iodine?
Iodine is known to contribute to:
Normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function.
Normal energy metabolism.
Normal cognitive function.
Normal functioning of the nervous system.
Maintenance of normal skin.
Why did Aroma-Zone choose this Marine Iodine food supplement?
We selected this ORGANIC Kelp powder, known for its high iodine content, to offer a natural, plant-based product from a protected environment for safe and effective use as a food supplement:
The seaweed comes from pure Scottish waters in the unspoilt region of the Hebrides Islands, and is harvested in an eco-friendly and sustainable way by carefully selecting the best sites and cutting the seaweed using specialised vessels and techniques.
Only the upper parts of the seaweed are harvested, allowing them to regrow quickly, guaranteeing a sustainable and environmentally-friendly supply chain.
The seaweed is dried and processed in special facilities using a patented, eco-friendly manufacturing process, without heat treatment or solvents, and with a gentle grinding method that preserves all the seaweed's natural active ingredients.
Each batch of seaweed is tested to ensure it is completely safe to consume, with a complete traceability system from harvest to finished product, including DNA authentication of the Ascophyllum nodosum species.
This natural iodine supplement is more effective than potassium iodide-based dietary supplements, since algae release iodine more slowly and more sustainably than synthetic sources, which are rapidly absorbed and also rapidly excreted.
A genuine natural and organic solution to iodine deficiency disorders, that is also vegan, with the added benefit of systematic verification that it contains no fish or shellfish DNA.
1 capsule a day covers the recommended daily intake of iodine.
No unnecessary additives, no hidden ingredients, organic kelp seaweed powder packaged in a plant-derived cellulose-based capsule with organic acacia gum (essential for precision dosage of the seaweed and therefore a controlled iodine content). Organic acacia gum is a natural prebiotic fibre with numerous nutritional benefits.
ORGANIC Kelp-based food supplement.

What is iodine?
Iodine is an essential trace element for our bodies. It is particularly concentrated in the thyroid gland, located in the neck, where it is involved in the synthesis of thyroid hormones. Thyroid hormones are essential for brain development and the metabolism in general. Marine iodine is the name given to the iodine derived from seaweed. It is extracted from the thallus of the Kelp seaweed known as Ascophyllum nodosum.
What is iodine used for?
Iodine's main role is to produce thyroid hormones, which play an important role in many of the body's functions, such as growth, nerve function and the use of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins in the diet for energy production. Where is iodine found? The body is unable to manufacture and store iodine, so it must be supplied through the diet. The main dietary source of iodine is sea salt if it is enriched with iodine, but we strongly advise against consuming too much salt. It is therefore preferable to turn to other food sources such as seafood, vegetables or eggs and dairy products. What are the benefits of ORGANIC kelp powder?
ORGANIC Kelp powder contains a standardised quantity of iodine, allowing for a controlled intake to avoid any risk of overdosing. It provides natural iodine, which acts more effectively in the body than synthetic sources. Fermentation of the seaweed in the colon is necessary to release the iodine from the seaweed matrix. This means that this matrix can delay iodine absorption by releasing it over a longer period than synthetic iodine. Iodine intake is therefore controlled and constant, with more iodine used and less excreted.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Nutritional Reference Value (NRV) is set at 150 µg per day for adults. One capsule of the ORGANIC Marine Iodine food supplement per day provides this recommended iodine intake.
Iodine supplementation is possible for pregnant or breastfeeding women, but must be monitored by a doctor. In this specific case only, the Nutritional Reference Value (NRV) can be up to 200 µg per day.
Marine iodine capsules are best taken on an occasional basis, particularly in cases of deficiency when the diet is not providing enough iodine. The food supplement is not necessarily taken as a course of treatment, but it can be taken over several days.
You can take it at any time, but for extra energy throughout the day, it's best to take the capsule at lunchtime.
It is not to consume iodine without prior medical advice if you are taking anticoagulants or treatments for hyperthyroidism.
Care should also be taken with treatments that contain lithium, as it reduces the absorption of iodine.
With regard to hypothyroidism, food supplements are not a substitute for medication and must be medically approved.
