Precautions

  • Although traditionally used to care for pregnant women and babies, some doctors now advise against the continuous application of sweet almond oil during pregnancy due to the increase in cases of allergy to nuts. We therefore advise you to alternate the application of sweet almond oil with other oils or butters to avoid the risk of sensitisation.

  • We advise against using this oil on people with a nut allergy.

Find out more

The almond tree belongs to the Rosaceae family. Its beautiful pinkish-white flowers, a symbol of virginity, are the first blooms to appear on fruit trees at the end of winter, despite the morning frosts.

Unlike its cousin the apricot, the flesh of the fruit is thin, hard and dry. It is impossible to eat.

However, hidden inside this unappetising fruit is a kernel which, depending on the variety, can be bitter and toxic or, on the contrary, sweet. It is from the latter that a highly nutritious, softening light yellow oil is extracted: sweet almond oil.
