Learn more
Orange blossom is a pretty white or pale pink flower picked from the Bitter Orange tree, a small shrub native to India and introduced around the Mediterranean during the Crusades. It is also known as 'Neroli' , after the Princess of Neroli (a small town near Rome) who introduced its use in the 16th century. In ancient times, Neroli, a symbol of purity and virginity, traditionally adorned bridal crowns and dresses.
In Provence, orange blossom is used in a number of desserts, including gibassier, navettes and pompe à l'huile, one of the thirteen traditional Christmas desserts. Neroli essential oil, obtained by steam distillation of orange blossom petals, is highly prized in perfumery, but is very expensive
Orange blossom hydrosol, incorporated into your cosmetic preparations, is therefore a good alternative for taking advantage of its revitalising properties for the skin and its calming, soothing action.
What's more, its pleasant , sweet floral scent will delicately perfume your 'home-made' cosmetics as well as your culinary preparations.
Its honeyed note is also appreciated as linen water, or for scenting pillows, cushions and curtains, etc.
