The olive tree has been known for millennia for its exceptional longevity. It is, in fact, the first tree mentioned in the history of the world. When Noah sent the dove as a scout, it returned with an olive branch in its beak, demonstrating that the waters had receded.
The olive tree is a vital gift for the people of the South. In ancient times, they would massage themselves with olive oil from head to toe; even today, it is frequently used internally to harness its numerous benefits.
As you may have gathered, whether in food or cosmetics, olive oil is widely celebrated for its benefits, and its reputation is well earned. Extracted by cold pressing its pulp rather than its pits, olive oil is one of the richest sources of oleic acid. Nourishing, softening, and emollient, it is a key ingredient in traditional Aleppo and Marseille soaps.
Renowned as an excellent restorative agent, it boasts a noteworthy concentration of unsaponifiables (approximately 1 to 2%) that lend it anti-ageing, soothing, and protective qualities against the ravages of time and environmental stressors. When consumed, olive oil offers digestive benefits and mild laxative properties, making it a valuable complement to treatments for digestive disturbances, particularly those affecting the stomach.
