Bach Flowers: What Are They?

Bach Flowers are herbal preparations developed by Dr. Edward Bach in the 1930s. There are 38 flower essences, each associated with a specific emotion or state of mind. The essences are prepared from an infusion or a decoction, intended to capture the "energy" of the flowers, which are then diluted in alcohol (often cognac) to act as a preservative. The solution can be taken orally or applied topically to specific points such as the temples or wrists.
