sea buckthorn is a small shrub frequently found in hedges. It is easily recognised by its orange berries, which grow in very compact masses on the shrub.
Used for thousands of years for its many health benefits, sea buckthorn owes its name to its beneficial properties. In fact, Hippophae comes from the Greek Hippo: "horse" and phaos "shine", because at the time it was observed that horses that ate it gained weight and had shiny coats. Sea buckthorn seed oil is unique in that it contains large quantities of highly interesting active ingredients, such as carotenoids (provitamin A), vitamin E and essential fatty acids (omega-3 and omega-6).
This unique combination gives sea buckthorn oil powerful antioxidant properties, as well as exceptional softening and restorative power for the skin. It is traditionally recommended in protective skin care and stretch mark treatment to help regenerate the skin.
In phytotherapy, sea buckthorn seed oil is often recommended as an adjunct to care for skin with atopic tendencies, and studies show that when used internally, it may improve the lipid composition of such skin.
Another scientific study suggests that consumption of this oil could help limit cholesterol deposits in the arteries, as a complement to a suitable diet.

Frequently Asked Questions
4 stars because I recently started getting a few pimples on my neck, which is unusual for me. I've been using both hemp seed oil and sea buckthorn oil, so I'm still not sure which one may be causing it. For now, I stopped applying them on my neck. On the other hand, my face has stayed very clear, without acne at all, which was a very pleasant surprise since my skin can sometimes break out, especially during stress.
beautiful oil
I love this oil, I've started using it several times now. It does my facial skin a lot of good. I put a little in my daily moisturizer. It soothes well and gives a healthy glow.
Good, but a little expensive.
