Uses for skincare

As a nourishing, softening and protective active ingredient in your cosmetic blends to formulate:

• Nourishing, soothing and protective butters and balms

• Massage balms

• Lip balms and sticks

• Rich creams for mature skin

• Gentle body creams and lotions

• Restorative creams or balms for damaged hands (outdoor workers, intensive hand washing, cold)

• Cold saponification, to create your own superfatted soaps rich in active ingredients (the unsaponifiables add their properties to the soap)

Uses

For use as an ingredient in the following blends:

• Nourishing and restorative hair care for dry or Afro-type hair

In practice

• This butter can be added as an ingredient in the oil phase of your cosmetic blends for nourishing creams, balms and sticks.

• In cold saponification: in synergy with other oils and butters, almond butter makes soap hard and its unsaponifiables soften the formula.

Instant recipe by Aroma-Zone

Step 1

Heat the water and oil phase (Sweet Olive Wax and butter) to around 70°C in 2 separate bowls.

Step 2

Mix the phases and shake vigorously for at least 3 mins to form the emulsion, then for a further 3 mins, cooling the bowl in a cold water bath.

Step 3

Add the preservative and, if necessary, the fragrance and colouring.

In practice

• This butter is incorporated into the oil phase of your cosmetic hair blends, such as creams, conditioners, masks, and balms. Apply your preparation to the hair, focusing on the ends. Massage gently, then wrap the hair in a warm towel. Leave on overnight if possible, then shampoo.

• It may also be added to the oil phase of your repairing hair blends, ideal for use after exposure to damaging factors such as sun, sea salt, or frequent washing.

Synergies

• To coat and protect the hair while leaving it shiny: ceramides, phytokeratin, silk proteins in emulsion

• To improve hair condition and enhance shine: castor oil, ylang-ylang essential oil

• For hair care products for blonde hair or highlights: German chamomile essential oil or hydrosol, turmeric powder in emulsion

• For hair care products for brown hair: walnut husk, chestnut henna in emulsion
