Associations
With raw materials: Very good compatibility; compatible with all emulsifiers and gums.
With bottles/containers: Cosgard Pur is incompatible with PET plastic. Do not pour Cosgard Pur into crystal PET, white PET, or blue PET bottles, and do not add it directly to a hydrosol or preparation in the bottle. To incorporate Cosgard into a preparation or hydrosol: transfer the product to a stainless steel bowl, add the preservative, stir thoroughly until fully dissolved, then transfer the product back to the bottle. Once properly diluted in a preparation, it can safely be stored in a PET bottle.
Note: If your hydrosol comes out of the refrigerator, wait until it returns to room temperature before adding the preservative to ensure it dissolves correctly.

Challenge test carried out by our supplier
The manufacturer has validated the effectiveness of this preservative as a bactericide through a "challenge test".
Challenge test: exposing a cosmetic formula to bacterial attacks in order to test and validate the preservative system.
Formulas tested:
Day cream (oil-in-water emulsion) with 1% Cosgard
Shampoo with 1% Cosgard
Microorganisms inoculated:
Gram +: Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 6538)
Gram -: Escherichia coli (ATCC 8739) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 9027)
Yeasts: Candida albicans (ATCC 10231)
Molds: Aspergillus niger (ATCC 16404)
Results:
The reduction in bacterial load complies with CTFA (Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association) recommendations and European Pharmacopoeia criteria (Ph. Eur. 6) in all cases. This means that Aroma-Zone Cosgard can be used to effectively preserve (i.e., without microbial contamination) conventional emulsions and shampoos. Stable emulsions containing 1% of this extract can be stored without microbial contamination for many months, even at room temperature. It is always best to store your preparations in a cool, dark place. However, if your emulsion is not stable (phase separation), it can no longer be stored.
Preservation
Store at room temperature away from moisture and light. Close the bottle tightly after use.
Precautions
Please note that benzyl alcohol is a potential allergen, so it is essential to perform an allergy test on the inside of your arm (test the finished product or the preservative diluted to 1%) and wait at least 24 hours (ideally 48 hours) to observe any possible reaction.
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not swallow or inhale, and avoid contact with the eyes.
Follow the recommended doses.
Dangerous. Follow the precautions for use.
Harmful if swallowed. Harmful if inhaled.
