Parameters such as skin hydration, even skin tone and a reduction in lesions were all improved in participants in the various clinical studies.
It is combined with the Lactobacillus salivarius DSM 22776, Bifidobacterium breve DSM16604, Lactobacillus casei DSM 27537, which have also been the subject of clinical studies showing their effectiveness on problem skin.

For this Probiotics Skin Balance & Beauty food supplement, we have combined 2 blends of patented probiotic strains with clinically proven efficacy: SynbÆctive® ProBeautyShield:
Consisting of a blend of 3 probiotic strains Lactobacillus rhamnosus LMG P-29513 / DSM 25568, Lactobacillus plantarum DSM 24937 and Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 25175, which has benefited from many years of research.
In 2024, the SynbÆctive® ProBeautyShield active ingredient won the NutraIngredient Award in the "Beauty from within" category, an internationally recognised award for quality nutritional solutions for maintaining and improving the beauty of the skin.
It has been the subject of several randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical studies (the gold standard of clinical trials) on a total of more than 160 people suffering from skin problems, with statistically significant effects.
A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study was carried out on acne sufferers, and showed a 20% reduction in the production of sebum, the excess of which encourages the growth of Cutibacterium acnes, the main bacteria involved in acne. The result is a reduction in acne lesions and blackheads, as well as an improvement in skin hydration.
Over 65% of participants in this study noted an improvement in the evenness of their skin tone.
Another randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study was conducted on subjects suffering from atopic dermatitis. It showed a reduction in the severity of symptoms and a 30% improvement in skin hydration.
The effects persisted even one month after the probiotics were stopped.
Mixture of strains Lactobacillus salivarius DSM 22776 Bifidobacterium breve DSM16604 Lactobacillus casei DSM 27537:
These strains have been selected for their action on various factors involved in acne: in vitro studies show that these strains are capable of producing bacteriocins (peptides produced by bacteria with antimicrobial activity on other bacteria) which inhibit colonisation by Cutibacterium acnes, the micro-organism responsible for acne pimples. In vitro screening also enabled these strains to be selected as the best to act on inflammation, via inhibition of interleukin IL-8 and production of interleukin IL-10.
A double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study on 120 people suffering from mild to moderate acne showed a significant improvement in symptoms, with a visible reduction in pimples, comedones and nodules and a reduction in sebum secretion.

What is the microbiota?
The intestinal microbiota, often referred to as the "intestinal flora", is the collection of microorganisms that live throughout our digestive system. It is made up of around 10,000 billion bacteria, and every adult is home to between 800 and 1,000 different species of bacteria, the majority of which are beneficial to our health. Each individual has a unique microbiota, the composition of which is influenced by lifestyle and diet.
The intestinal microbiota plays a crucial role in digestion, the synthesis of certain vitamins and protection against pathogens. More and more scientific studies are highlighting the importance of our microbiota in maintaining our health. In particular, it influences our immune system and can also have an impact on our mental health and metabolism.
A rich, varied and balanced microbiota is now recognised as essential for overall health, and imbalances can be associated with various disorders, such as digestive disease, obesity and even mood disorders.
Certain factors, such as an unbalanced diet, stress or taking antibiotics for example, can lead to an alteration in the intestinal microbiota. This dysbiosis, i.e. imbalance in the intestinal flora, can modify intestinal absorption and lead to the development of inflammatory or auto-immune responses in various organs.
In addition, the skin itself has its own microbiota, the balance of which can also be disturbed. These are all the micro-organisms living on the surface of our skin. This skin flora plays a fundamental role in the balance and beauty of our skin.
What is the gut-skin axis?
Scientific studies have shown that there is a close relationship between intestinal health and skin health, and in particular the state of the intestinal microbiota has a major influence on the skin. This is sometimes referred to as the "gut-skin" axis, just as there is a "gut-brain" axis, underlining the importance of our gut microbiota in our overall health, both physical and mental, but also its influence on the beauty of our skin. An imbalance in the intestinal microbiota can play a role in the appearance of skin problems such as acne, eczema or psoriasis. Dysbiosis (imbalance of intestinal flora) tends to create a state of inflammation that encourages skin problems. In some cases, the weakened intestinal mucosa can become too permeable, allowing undesirable elements to pass into the bloodstream, which can encourage inflammatory reactions and cause various symptoms, including skin problems. The bacteria in our intestinal flora also have an important effect on our immune defences, so an imbalance in this flora can weaken our skin. In addition, the intestinal microbiota has an influence on our hormonal secretions, and therefore has an effect on sebum secretion and acne problems. Finally, a varied and balanced microbiota promotes the proper absorption of nutrients (vitamins, minerals, etc.) from our diet, and also plays a part in the synthesis of certain important compounds (vitamins, short-chain fatty acids, etc.), contributing to a good nutritional balance and therefore to the beauty of the skin.

Frequently Asked Questions
No, this food supplement is not recommended during pregnancy or when breastfeeding.
The beneficial effects of the strains were observed after taking them daily for 28 days. We therefore recommend a cure of at least 1 month, which corresponds to one jar. The course of treatment can be extended to 2 months if necessary.
This food supplement can be taken continuously for two months. We then recommend a one-month break between courses, during which the beneficial effects of the probiotics remain visible. The course of treatment can then be repeated if necessary.
Probiotics should be taken at least 30 minutes before a meal to optimise their survival and effectiveness. Ideally, they should be taken in the morning on an empty stomach, for example when you get up, just before breakfast. However, as we have chosen gastro-resistant capsules for this food supplement, the strains are protected and this recommendation is less necessary.
This food supplement is for adults only.
One week of use and I already see an improvement.
I'm on my second box, so a little over 30 days. It made the eczema on my eyelids disappear and reduced that on my neck. My skin feels less tight.
I haven't seen any change in my skin
In addition to creams, I think my skin appreciates it!!!
I started the probiotic treatment because I have quite pronounced rosacea on my cheeks and chin. Along with the Azelaic Acid concentrated serum, I noticed a clear improvement in my skin within a few days. I highly recommend it!
