In brief

  • This healthy glow serum is ideal for reviving the complexion’s radiance and giving the skin a fresher, more luminous appearance, without sun exposure

  • It is primarily intended for very fair to medium skin tones, phototypes I to IV

  • Easy to incorporate into a beauty routine, it delivers a gradual, natural healthy glow with each application.

Why use a serum to achieve a healthy glow?

Nowadays, tanning is seen as a way to enhance our skin and highlight our bodies. A sun-kissed complexion evokes vacations, the beach and the pleasure of sunbathing. These are all attractive associations that can fuel the desire to look healthy all year round.

Nevertheless, the modern perception of tanning continues to evolve toward a more nuanced view. Today, science has solid evidence that identifies the sun as the skin’s number one enemy (even though it can also be beneficial, particularly by stimulating the essential synthesis of vitamin D). Tanning naturally under its rays exposes you to certain risks, such as accelerated skin aging and solar elastosis (loss of elasticity, yellowing, deep wrinkles).

In this context of reevaluation, our glow-boosting serum emerges as a clever compromise. Its formula, enriched with melanin-boosting active ingredients, is designed to deliver a beautiful golden glow without sun exposure. For those who don’t want to give up the joys of the beach, it provides a noticeable boost to your tan, with a significant increase in melanin levels measured after just 7 days of use. And in this case, its antioxidant power offers additional protection against the effects of free radicals, helping to keep skin supple, soft, smooth and soothed.

The active ingredients selected by our R&D teams

Carrot Macerate

It is a plant-based oil infused with carrot roots, giving it a rich, vibrant hue. It is naturally rich in beta-carotene, a precursor to vitamin A, whose pigments temporarily colour the stratum corneum. This active ingredient acts as a “healthy glow” filter that warms the complexion with a natural tan and enhances an existing tan.

Inositol

This naturally derived active ingredient comes from the pulp of the carob fruit, a tree native to the Mediterranean. It stimulates the activity of tyrosinase in the presence of UV light—an enzyme that plays a key role in melanin production. Melanin is a family of pigments that give the skin its characteristic colour and are also involved in the tanning process.

Organic Indigo Extract

Here is another active ingredient that influences the synthesis of the well-known melanin, essential for giving the skin a golden glow. 100% plant-based, it also has soothing properties and protects cells from UV-induced damage. To formulate our healthy glow serum, we use an extract of Indigo grown in France, in Provence, certified organic.

Oligobronze

Unlike the previous active ingredients, this ingredient is actually a marine-derived complex. It combines brown algae extract with manganese and magnesium (two trace elements active in various biological processes). It also helps stimulate the natural production of melanin, with or without sun exposure, while limiting damage caused by UV rays.

Astaxanthin

Derived from microalgae, this carotenoid is a favorite of our teams for its unmatched antioxidant effects. They are said to be up to 770 times more effective than those of coenzyme Q10, a benchmark cosmetic ingredient for antioxidant protection. This addition is particularly effective in preventing the pro-oxidative effects associated with exposure to ultraviolet rays.

Hyaluronic acid

It is renowned for its powerful moisturising, plumping and anti-wrinkle properties. It combines humectant and film-forming qualities. It is able to retain water in the tissues to give them a smoother appearance. It also forms an imperceptible protective film that prevents dehydration. Our hyaluronic acid is obtained through a wheat fermentation process.

Bisabolol

It is traditionally extracted from German chamomile, a source of α-bisabolol. Incorporated into the oil phase of our healthy glow serum, this active ingredient provides its soothing benefits. It helps maintain skin comfort, particularly during sun exposure. Sunlight tends to compromise the skin barrier and heighten the skin’s natural sensitivity.

A note on the formulation

How does melanin synthesis occur?

"An enzyme called tyrosinase naturally converts an amino acid in the skin, tyrosine, into melanin, the pigment responsible for skin colour and tanning. This melanin is stored in melanosomes, which are then transferred to the keratinocytes. As the keratinocytes move up to the upper layers of the epidermis, the melanosomes break down and release the melanin. This melanin spreads across the skin’s surface, giving it its colour and forming a natural barrier against UV rays."

The benefits of its formula for skin beauty and comfort

  • No sun exposure, provides an immediate and natural healthy glow

  • Hydrates the upper layers of the epidermis and plumps the skin’s surface

  • Soothes the skin and prevents the onset of skin discomfort

  • Protects the skin from oxidative stress and environmental aggressors.

Who is this serum for?

This is one of its major strengths: our Healthy Glow & Tan Serum is suitable for all skin types, without exception.

The safety of its formula is guaranteed by dermatological testing, offering peace of mind for even the most sensitive and delicate skin.

Non-comedogenic, it is also suitable for combination to oily skin prone to breakouts. It gives the skin a golden glow without further clogging the pores.

Good to know: Our serum is suitable for both men and women, ages 18 and up. Its healthy-glow ingredients and melanin boosters work exactly the same way on men’s skin as they do on women’s.

Can people with dark or tanned skin use it?

Yes, but darker skin tones will experience different results.

Overall, our serum is designed for skin types I (milky complexion, red hair, light eyes, “burns” without tanning), skin types II (very fair skin, blond hair, light eyes, tans with difficulty), skin types III (fair skin, brown hair, light eyes, light tan), and skin types IV (fair to medium skin, brown or dark hair, tans easily). Therefore, very fair, fair, and medium skin tones benefit most from the full range of its effects.

Its healthy glow and tan-boosting effects are less pronounced on olive and dark complexions, represented by phototypes V and VI. These skin types tan very easily. Nevertheless, the formula’s antioxidant properties can provide them with additional protection during the summer, when ultraviolet radiation reaches its annual peak.

How to use it for a sun-kissed complexion all year round?

You can apply this two-phase healthy glow serum all year round to maintain a radiant appearance without sun exposure, whatever the season. If you use it to intensify and prolong your tan, stop using it as soon as you are satisfied with the resulting pigmentation.

  1. Cleanse your skin, then dry it thoroughly.

  2. Shake your bottle of radiance-boosting serum to mix its two phases.

  3. Take a few drops and warm them between your hands.

  4. Apply all over your face, working the formula down toward your neck.

Precautions

Our healthy glow serum is not a sunscreen. It does not replace the need to apply an SPF suitable for your skin type when you are exposed to the sun. We also recommend protecting yourself from the sun by wearing protective clothing, a hat or cap, staying in the shade whenever possible, and avoiding exposure during the hottest hours of the day.

Do not use the radiance-boosting serum with an anti-dark spot treatment, as these products contain active ingredients that limit melanin production, which counteracts the serum’s effects.

Expert Tip

If you choose to spend time in the sun to deepen your tan, be sure to treat your skin to an after-sun care product. This could be a reparative mask or a simple aloe vera gel, whose cooling effects are especially appreciated in the summer. Properly hydrated and soothed skin looks naturally smoother, plumper, and more luminous.
