Vanilla is the fruit of an orchid from Mexico, a member of the orchid family known as the vanilla plant. It was "discovered" by the Spanish during their voyages to America in 1500, and was imported toRéunion Island, then known as Bourbon Island, in the 19th century. Today, vanilla is grown almost everywhere in the world, but it is theBourbon origin that remains by far the favourite of gourmets who appreciate the warm , sweet aroma. Did you know that breast lotion contains a molecule with a structure similar to vanillin?
So it's easy to understand why, whatever the culture of the country, thearoma of vanilla seduces and bewitches. A fabulous scent for this macerate made by Aroma-Zone from organic Bourbon Vanilla beans from Madagascar, which are very rich in vanillin and rigorously selected for their scent after months of comparative tests. Organic sesame oil as a carrier makes it an essential body care ingredient. The whole Aroma-Zone team is unanimous: we'd eat them... And why not?
Aroma-Zone Sesame and sustainable development
We have chosen to use a sustainable and fair production method for this organic sesame oil, which comes directly from Mali.
Thanks to the "Organic Fair Trade Sesame" chain, around 100,000 people in Mali (150 villages) benefit from the income generated by the production and sale of this organic sesame oil. This sector has both a human and an environmental impact.
and the sale of this organic sesame oil. This sector has both a human and an environmental dimension.
The aim of the "Organic Fair Trade Sesame" chain is toallocate each village an agricultural plot managed by the village chief, with the revenue generated enabling each village to pay the taxes it has to pay to the sector (the equivalent of our départements). Each family taking part in the project is allocated its own plot. The income generated by growing sesame on these plots has already been used to finance the construction of permanent houses, thepurchase of school supplies (the school has its own plot which it also cultivates),clothing, repairs to water pumps, popular festivals, etc.
The sector is also involved in the fight to protect the environment , since in addition to growing organic sesame, 10 tree nurseries have been set up with the aim of planting shrubs during the off-season and reforesting the various squares in the partner villages.
Environmentally-friendly production and sustainable income for producers in more than 150 villages in Mali are just some of the concrete actions taken by this sector.
