This very precious and rare oil should not be confused with prickly pear oil macerate, which is less expensive but also less active. The Prickly Pear is a cactus that grows abundantly around the Mediterranean basin. Prickly Pear oil is a very precious and rare oil obtained only by cold pressing the seeds of Opuntia ficus indica. Extraction yields are very low, since only 5% of the oil is contained in the small seed, hence its very high cost.
