Helichrysum italicum, also known simply as helichrysum, is native to the Mediterranean basin. It often grows wild in arid, sun-drenched soils, and its silvery evergreen foliage also makes it a striking ornamental plant in gardens.
The name comes from the Greek helios (sun) and chrysos (golden), a reference to its golden-yellow flowers. Helichrysum is also nicknamed the “everlasting flower” because its blooms never fade — even when cut and dried, they retain their shape and colour for a long time.
They are often depicted accompanying Apollo, as a reminder of his immortality. Obtained by steam distillation of the plant's aerial parts, the Helichrysum italicum hydrosol we are offering you comes straight from a local producer who works passionately in a region of Northern Corsica to bring us this wonderful product of the sun. Its essential oil has traditionally recognised anti-bruising, anti-inflammatory and circulatory properties, making it a good alternative with a powerful scent. Incorporated into your soothing skin care preparations, it will relieve even the most delicate skin.
