In practice

As an ingredient in the following blends for spraying on the scalp and/or hair.

  • Use together with active ingredients and other natural water-soluble ingredients to create scalp lotions or hair sprays. These preparations can be stored in the refrigerator, just like pure hydrosols. To keep them at room temperature, a preservative such as Cosgard must be added (transfer the hydrosol to a bowl before adding the preservative).

  • Essential oils may also be added if desired, but a dispersant (such as Solubol or Disper) is required, as essential oils are not soluble in water. As with other formulations, a preservative is needed if the lotion is to be stored at room temperature.

  • Atlas Cedar Hydrosol can also be incorporated into the aqueous phase of your homemade cosmetic formulas. It is ideal for preparing:

    • Fortifying shampoos

    • Anti-hair loss lotions

    • Toning hair sprays

    • "Instant" shampoos

    • Hair-strengthening masks

    • Lotion for problem-prone scalps

Storage and precautions

Storage

Hydrosols are sensitive to pollution. As our Aroma-Zone hydrosols are fresh, pure products with no preservatives, we strongly recommend that you store them in the refrigerator and use them within 6 months of opening. When using them, make sure your hands are always clean and that you disinfect all utensils and bottles that come into contact with the hydrosols when preparing your homemade cosmetics. If you notice a change in appearance or smell, stop using the hydrosol.

Precautions

As it is a diuretic, use internally with caution. Do not use internally during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

A symbol of power and courage, the Atlas Cedar is a majestic and fascinating tree that can reach up to 50 metres in height and live for as long as 2,000 years. Native to North Africa, this conifer from the Pinaceae family was introduced to France in the mid-19th century, particularly in the Mont Ventoux region. Its ability to adapt easily and its graceful silhouette quickly made it a favourite choice for parks and gardens. Today, it thrives in many areas, especially in low and medium-altitude Mediterranean regions, where it is often used for reforestation thanks to its good drought resistance and relatively low flammability.
