The sweet cherry (Prunus avium) is the domesticated form of the wild cherry. Native to Europe, Western Asia and North Africa, the cherry tree belongs to the Prunus genus of the Rosaceae family. It is therefore a cousin of the apricot and plum trees, among others. Along with the sour cherry (Prunus cerasus), Prunus avium is one of the two species of cherry that resulted in the varieties currently grown for their fruit. Synonymous with Japan, the splendid white or pink blossom of the cherry trees gives way, from May or June depending on the variety, to delicious, juicy, colourful fruit. Sweet or tart, cherries are renowned for their taste as well as their nutritional qualities, but the beneficial qualities of their pits are less well known.

Obtained by cold-pressing the pits, cherry oil is high in essential fatty acids, vitamin E and phytosterols. Nourishing and emollient, it is popular in skincare products for its anti-ageing and protective effects on the skin. It helps to restructure and soften dry skin and improves skin hydration* by protecting it against dehydration.

It is of interest due to its high proportion of alpha-elostearic acid, a rare fatty acid, which gives it a soft, penetrating feel that is helpful for making non-greasy textured skin products and combating the signs of ageing.

Unfortunately the product was past its expiration date, most probably. Because the label didn't even have an expiration date printed on it... But when I opened the product, the smell made it clear that it was no good. So I can't use it.. If u want I can send you a picture.

Very pleasant oil for dry skin care: hands, body, or face. Fluid enough to be quickly absorbed without leaving a greasy film. Subtle scent. I couldn't find the origin of this product, is it French? As mentioned in a previous review, I think Aroma-zone could offer a pump cap as an option to make the product easier to use.
