The ingredient Reducose® is an extract of white mulberry and derives its effectiveness from its high content of a molecule called 1-deoxynojirimycin (DNJ). This compound has a molecular structure very similar to that of glucose, which allows it to inhibit the function of the enzyme alpha-glucosidase by binding to it instead of glucose. This enzyme digests carbohydrates, converting them into monosaccharides (simple sugars) which can then enter the bloodstream. Reducose® therefore limits the absorption of glucose into the blood and reduces the insulin response when carbohydrates are consumed.
By limiting the digestion of complex sugars, Reducose® triggers a beneficial cascade of effects. Undigested complex sugars increase the feeling of fullness as they continue their journey through the intestine and have a prebiotic effect by serving as food for our microbiota. With the decrease in insulin secretion, fat storage is reduced and its use as an energy source is increased.
We have added 280 mg per daily dose of a 5:1 Ceylon cinnamon extract standardized to 20% proanthocyanidins to our formula. This means that a daily dose of Glucose Control provides the equivalent of 1400 mg of Ceylon cinnamon bark, including 56 mg of proanthocyanidins. The extraction is carried out in France and concentrates the active ingredients of cinnamon using only water as a solvent. In one study, cinnamon supplementation showed good results over a 3-month period with effects on several glycemic indices: fasting blood sugar, insulin levels, and insulin resistance ( HOMA index).
With more than 10 clinical studies conducted in humans, the Reducose® ingredient has demonstrated its effectiveness from the first dose in reducing the glycemic response:

What is postprandial blood sugar?
Postprandial blood sugar is the level of glucose (sugar) in the blood after eating a meal. It is usually measured about 1 to 2 hours after the start of a meal.
After eating, especially foods rich in carbohydrates such as pasta, bread, rice, or sweets, the body breaks these carbohydrates down into glucose. The glucose then enters into the bloodstream, causing blood sugar levels to rise.
In a healthy person, the pancreas releases insulin, a hormone that helps lower blood sugar levels by allowing glucose to enter the cells.
What is a "glucose spike"?
A glucose spike (or glycaemic peak) is a rapid and significant increase in blood sugar levels that occurs after eating certain foods, particularly those rich in simple or refined carbohydrates (such as sugar, pastries, sodas, or white bread). In a healthy person, the body regulates this spike with insulin. However, frequent spikes can lead to fatigue or cravings a few hours later when blood sugar drops again (a phenomenon known as reactive hypoglycemia) and can also contribute to weight gain. Over time, repeated and poorly managed glucose spikes can tire the pancreas and increase the risk of type 2 diabetes by promoting insulin resistance.
How to reduce glucose spikes?
Choosing low-glycaemic foods helps to smooth out glucose spikes by slowing down carbohydrates absorbtion. Adding fibre, healthy fats, and proteins to a meal also helps moderate the absorption of carbohydrates. Engaging in moderate physical activity, such as a short walk after eating, has a beneficial effect on postprandial blood sugar levels.
