Sun Complex - 30 Capsules

• To prepare the skin for the sun: with the approach of summer and especially exposure to the sun, this food supplement provides important nutrients for helping your skin look its best in the sun.

• To promote tanning: an essential trace element, copper is involved in the synthesis of melanin and contributes to normal skin pigmentation.

• To help protect the skin from premature ageing thanks to its antioxidant effects: nutroxsun® contains grapefruit and rosemary extracts, which trap free radicals to prevent oxidative damage (3). nutroxsun® also has soothing and protective properties that are effective from the very first days you take it (1)(2). Selenium and vitamin E help to protect cells against oxidative stress.

• To improve the skin's appearance and promote a beautiful, tanned complexion: thanks to carotenoids renowned for their healthy glow and antioxidant effects: lutein and zeaxanthin, which are natural pigments extracted from the tagetes flower, provided by XanMax® active ingredients, and natural lycopene extracted from tomatoes.

• To keep skin supple and nourished: thanks to the essential fatty acids provided by evening primrose oil, in particular gamma-linolenic acid, a rare omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid that helps synthesise phospholipids in our cell membranes.

nutroxsun®

• An exclusive combination of Mediterranean rosemary and grapefruit extracts, which help protect the skin from sun damage from the inside out. Their phenolic compounds, diterpenes and antioxidant flavonoids work in a complementary and synergistic way to counteract the negative effects of the sun's rays.

• An ideal complement to topical sun protection, its systemic effects help to prevent and reduce photo-induced oxidation, UV skin damage and photoageing.

• Its beneficial effects have been scientifically demonstrated in clinical studies (1)(2)(3).

XanMax®

• Tagetes flower extract titrated in lutein and zeaxanthin with a specific patented lutein-zeaxanthin ratio.

• Lutein and zeaxanthin, two dermal carotenoids, have been extensively studied for their beneficial effects on the skin and their antioxidant effects. This makes XanMax® the perfect option for protecting the skin, particularly through reducing oxidative stress, a process which leads to the breakdown of cell membrane lipids.

For optimum synergy, the formula is complemented by another natural carotenoid, lycopene (from tomatoes), evening primrose oil, vitamin E and minerals in bio-available form: copper bisglycinate and selenium provided by selenium yeast.

This food supplement is formulated with the active ingredient nutroxsun®, whose efficacy has been validated by clinical studies.

In the short term, soothing and protective properties combating the harmful effects of UVB rays have been demonstrated with 100 mg of nutroxsun® per day (equivalent to one capsule of Sun Complex) for 3 days (1)(2):

• (1) With the first dose taken 15-30 minutes before exposure to UVB rays, the volunteers noticed a reduction in redness 48 hours after exposure.

• (2) When the first dose was taken 1 hour before exposure to UVB rays, the volunteers observed a reduction in redness after just one day's consumption. The results confirm nutroxsun®'s ability to help the skin recover more quickly after overexposure to the sun.

(1) Placebo-controlled instrumental cross-over clinical study on 5 volunteers with skin phototypes II to III according to the Fitzpatrick classification.

(2) Placebo-controlled instrumental cross-over clinical study on 20 volunteers with skin phototypes I to III according to the Fitzpatrick classification.

A longer-term study using 100 mg nutroxsun® per day (equivalent to one capsule of Sun Complex) for 2 months (3) showed:

• A progressive increase in individual tolerance to the sun: significant increase in the Minimum Erythemal Dose of around 30% after 2 months.

• An improvement in the skin's response to UVA-induced oxidative stress: significant reduction in the lipoperoxide content of the skin, showing a reduction in UVA-induced oxidation.

• Rapid improvement in the skin's appearance: reduction in the depth of wrinkles (variation in wrinkle depth of -15% compared to initial conditions) and improvement in skin elasticity (variation in skin elasticity of +9% compared to initial conditions).
