Native to Western Asia and the Mediterranean basin, this cousin of oregano is an aromatic herb that has been used in Europe for a long time.

It gained recognition throughout the centuries. In ancient Egypt, marjoram was dedicated to the god Osiris (the god of the dead and guardian of the deceased's survival in the underworld) and was used in embalming ceremonies. This symbolism is also found among the Greeks, who traditionally planted marjoram on the graves of their deceased to bring them peace of mind and spirit.

A symbol of wellness, marjoram is traditionally used to soothe and calm the mind while providing antibacterial and antifugal activity. Ancient Greek texts state that 'taken internally (oral use), marjoram relieves the stomach and is good for liver and spleen pains as it has the virtue of strengthening them'.

thujanol Marjoram essential oil has a rare and exceptional composition! Derived from a specific chemotype of marjoram, this essential oil's composition is a subtle intermediary between sweet Marjoram essential oil and thujanol Thyme essential oil. . Therefore, it is a perfect alternative to the latter, which often suffers from stock shortages due to its rarity.

Its very high thujanol content also gives it warming and stimulating properties for the muscles and blood circulation.

An essential oil that's a must-have in my aromatherapy collection, because it's so effective!

A must-have for winter! As soon as your throat starts to itch, 2 drops with a little honey and it goes away! I find it just as effective as thujanol thyme, which is much more expensive.
