Dr Reyhan Amode is a dermatologist practising in the Marais district of Paris. We are honoured to welcome him to our College of Dermatologists.
You run your own private practice, which you yourself describe as the ‘ideal dermatology practice’. That really shows just how passionate you seem to be about your work. Could you tell us more about your areas of specialism?
I love every aspect of this profession: medical dermatology, venereology, surgical dermatology, dermatological lasers and cosmetic dermatology!
I also incorporate phytotherapy and aromatherapy into my practice, which tie in with another of my passions – this time a non-medical one: botany!
What do you enjoy most about practising dermatology?
Eclecticism! The practice of dermatology is extremely varied.
What does Aroma-Zone mean to you?
It's about aromatherapy. It was my patients who first introduced me to the brand’s range of ready-to-use cosmetics, which they found reasonably priced. Today, I’m discovering the full scope of what the brand has to offer.
What motivated you to join the Aroma-Zone College of Dermatologists?
The suitability of the formulation, safety of use and transparency towards the user are my top priorities when advising patients on their choice of cosmetics.
It was with a view to putting this approach into practice that I agreed to join the panel of experts.
In your opinion, what is the essential skincare step for maintaining healthy skin?
Looking after yourself, whether it’s your body or your mind.
Which dermo-cosmetic active ingredient do you most frequently recommend to your patients?
Patient education is at the heart of my approach. I recommend observing your skin and noting any discomfort throughout the day and across the seasons in order to identify your needs.
With a little knowledge of cosmetology, an app to help scan ingredients, and a measure of critical thinking, everyone can find the active ingredient that suits them best.
