Astrocaryum tucuma, also known as tucuma, is a palm tree native to Amazonia, in the same family as Murumuru. Unlike Murumuru, tucuma prefers dry, raised ground to avoid flooding. It can grow up to 20 m tall and produces between 100 and 200 orange fruits, each 5 cm in size, packed close together.
tucuma fruits are highly prized in Brazil, as they are rich in lipids, vitamins and proteins. Oil is extracted from the pulp, but tucuma butter is obtained by pressing the beans.
As a cosmetic active ingredient, it has an exceptional emollient action that adds a touch of softness to the skin. Its high concentration of lauric acid, a fatty acid with a very strong affinity for hair proteins, makes it an ideal ingredient for nourishing and beautifying dry hair. A natural source of carotenoids, this butter is ideal for preparing pre- and post-sun creams and balms.
It protects the skin from dehydration and naturally prolongs the tan. Let yourself be seduced by this butter with its delicate, gourmet café au lait fragrance!
