Linoleic acid is the most important fatty acid in the omega-6 family. It forms part of the skin's ceramides and helps to reconstitute epidermal lipids. It is found in the hydrolipidic film that keeps the skin hydrated. Linoleic acid plays a role in the cohesion of skin cells, preventing dehydration while providing nutritive and softening properties.

Tomatoes are one of the most widely grown crops in the world. In France, 600 tonnes of tomatoes are harvested every year. While they are delicious in salads, they are also processed by the food industry. The seeds are separated from the pulp, but unfortunately this by-product is often not recycled, despite its richness in essential fatty acids and active ingredients. Tomato seeds contain around 20% oil. Tomato seed oil has a unique fatty acid composition and is rich in antioxidant compounds, making it a rare and premium cosmetic oil.
