Carotenoids including trans-retinoic acid or retinol: an extremely active form of vitamin A, frequently used in dermatology for its powerful regenerating qualities at cellular level and stimulating the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, essential for skin firmness.
Phytosterols (stigmasterol, campesterol, beta-sitosterol): repair, protect and soothe.
Tocopherols (vitamin E): antioxidants, combat premature ageing and improve the oxidation stability of the oil.
Focus on linoleic acid
Linoleic acid is a polyunsaturated fatty acid belonging to the omega-6 family. This fatty acid is not synthesised by the body. As such, it is an "essential" fatty acid. A deficiency in linoleic acid can lead to intense dryness of the skin and allergies. In the skin, this fatty acid is a component of ceramides. It helps to reconstitute epidermal lipids and is involved in membrane fluidity. Linoleic acid helps limit water loss from the skin, while also having softening and nourishing properties.

Meet our producer and partner
This virgin Cacay carrier oil comes from a responsible, sustainable and ethical production chain in the Meta region of Colombia. Also known as Caryodendron or Orinocense Kahai oil, it is obtained by cold pressing the nuts of the fruit harvested in the eastern plains of Colombia.
In response to the region's economic crisis, our partner supports over 150 farming families in areas with post-conflict problems, from whom it buys wild harvests of Cacay fruit at fair prices to generate additional income.
Our producer and partner also grows its own trees on more than 50 hectares of land and works in collaboration with farming families who are committed to reforesting the region and protecting these "trees of longevity". In this way, they contribute to the preservation of the species and to the conservation andsustainable use of our natural resources.

A precious tree native to Amazonia and the Colombian Orinoco, the Cacay is highly valued by local populations thanks to its positive carbon footprint (it can capture and store large quantities of CO2) and its ability to nourish the soil. It is also found in Peru, Ecuador and Brazil, but its cultivation remains the prerogative of Colombian farmers, who extract a precious oil with a much drier feel and higher quality.
Reaching heights of up to 70 metres, the Cacay produces fruit from its fifth year and can bear fruit for up to 80 years, its longest lifespan. When the fruit reaches maturity, it falls from the tree and is immediately harvested before being stored in special conditions. At 12 years of age, the seventh year of production, the tree reaches maturity, producing between 200 and 250 kg of fruit a year.
The fruit, about the size of a small lime, has long been used as animal feed or organic fertiliser. Each one produces 3 nuts, rich in proteins and nutrients, from which a precious oil with exceptional anti-ageing properties is extracted. This oil makes up around 50% of the total weight of the nut and is traditionally used to combat skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis and acne. Amazonian peoples also used it to treat burns and small wounds.
In cosmetics, this carrier oil is particularly popular for its high retinol content, renowned for its healing and regenerating action. Rich in linoleic acid, it is also ideal for very dry, flaky skin. Nourishing and restorative, it is also much popular for hair lacking in nutrition and with split ends.

Frequently Asked Questions
Very good results. Dries quickly
I love this oil. I've been using it for years in skincare for my face, hair masks, and pure as a serum for facial skin.
I don't know about using it alone, but combined with the 10% Niacinamide serum every evening, it's truly effective. For me, it's the best effectiveness/price ratio I've experienced in cosmetics.
