Properties
As a hair improvement ingredient, maca vital cosmetic active ingredient is recognised for the following properties:
Stimulates hair growth by increasing cell multiplication in the hair bulb
Strengthens hair: cell multiplication is increased in the epithelial sheath, which is the hair's nourishing reserve in the capillary bulb and enables the hair to develop. A healthy epithelial sheath means stronger hair.
Combats hair loss by increasing the resistance of the hair bulb to stress factors (pollution, smoking, etc.) and by increasing the density of collagen in the support tissue of the scalp, which improves the adhesion of the hair to the scalp.

As a cosmetic active ingredient, maca vital is recognised for the following properties:
Stimulates collagen synthesis by keratinocytes, improving dermal density.

Vital Maca can be incorporated into a ready-to-use AZ Neutral Base to make :
An emulsion: with Organic Neutral Plant Milk, Organic Neutral Age-Defying Cream and Organic Moisturising Cream, Organic Neutral Hair Mask Base.
An aqueous gel: with Organic Aloe Vera Gel
A foaming product: with organic Neutral Shampoo Base, organic Neutral Cleansing Base, organic Neutral Cleansing Cream Base
Incorporate Maca vital as an ingredient in one of the AZ neutral bases listed above to make an emulsion, gel or foaming product.
Step 1
Pour your product into a cosmetic preparation bowl or other suitable container.
Step 2
Add the desired quantity of Maca vital (see equivalence table above and within the limit of the maximum percentage to be incorporated into the AZ Neutral Base of 5%). As this active ingredient is viscous, we recommend dosing it using a transfer pipette.
Step 3
Shake well to mix well.
Step 4
Pour the product into its container, using a pipette if necessary.

Maca Lepidium meyenii is a taprooted plant from the Brassicaceae family native to the Peruvian Andes. Cultivated since Neolithic times at altitudes of over 3500 m, it is one of the few plants able to survive in the semi-desert conditions of the Andean high plateaux: intense sun and heat during the day, freezing cold at night, violent winds that erode the soil and dry out the plants.
The maca tuber is used as a foodstuff, generally in the form of cooked flour to make cakes, biscuits, drinks, etc. Maca root has a very interesting and fairly complete nutritional composition, with a wide variety of amino acids, carbohydrates, trace elements and fatty acids. It is known for providing energy, strength and stamina, and is used in traditional Peruvian medicine to combat winter ailments, depression and fertility problems, among other things, earning it its reputation as the'secret of vitality of the Incas'. Sometimes nicknamed "Peruvian ginseng", maca is also said to have aphrodisiac properties. Maca root contains characteristic compounds , macaenes and macamides, which may explain the properties of maca and the active ingredient Maca vital.
