What does the liver do?
The liver is one of the body's emunctory organs, meaning it filters and eliminates waste from the body, just like the kidneys, lungs, intestines, and skin.
Certain substances that reach the liver during digestion are not necessary for the body to function properly and are sometimes even toxic. The role of the liver is to break down these substances so that they can be eliminated either through the intestines via the bile it produces or in the urine via the kidneys. Its role is therefore central and essential to our body.
How can you take care of your liver?
When the liver is congested, it becomes saturated and its work is less effective. It is therefore important to adopt a healthy lifestyle to limit the accumulation of waste and toxins, and to "clean" the liver once or twice a year, at least in the spring, after the rich holiday season, and possibly in the fall.
We have selected three well-known and effective plants that promote liver health, which work synergistically in this dietary supplement: Altilix™ artichoke, milk thistle, and dandelion.
Milk thistle is a plant whose fruits contain flavonoids, sterols, and oils, but its benefits are mainly due to its concentration of silymarin, a mixture of flavolignans such as silybins, isosilybins, silychristin, and silydamine. Several clinical studies have demonstrated the benefits of silymarin consumption on type 2 diabetes markers (Ebrahimpour-Koujan et al., 2018) and liver markers (Solhi et al., 2014).
We have therefore chosen a high-quality extract titrated to 50% silymarin using the HPLC method for greater effectiveness.
Dandelion is a plant traditionally used to activate the body's elimination functions and perfectly complements this formula.
In addition, it is important to note that a healthy lifestyle promotes liver well-being: in particular, it is advisable to limit alcohol consumption, drink plenty of water, and eat a varied and balanced diet.
