Eastern Red Cedarwood Essential Oil

Organoleptic properties

• Appearance: clear runny liquid, may crystallise at room temperature

• Colour: colourless to pale yellow

• Odour: interesting sandalwood-like note, suave, typical of cedar. Of the three cedars, this is the essential oil with the most characteristic cedar odour. The scent is rather like a freshly sharpened grey pencil.

Storage

Essential oils are sensitive to UV radiation and to the gradual evaporation of their volatile constituents. It is therefore essential to store your essential oils in a dark glass or aluminium bottle with a tightly fitting cap, at a temperature between 5°C and 40°C (41°F and 104°F).

Precautions

• Do not use during pregnancy and/or breastfeeding, or in children under 6 years old.

• Not recommended in cases of estrogen-dependent pathologies: mastosis, endometriosis, fibroids, or estrogen-dependent cancer (breast, ovary, endometrium).

• Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

• Always use diluted.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Some natural compounds in this essential oil may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals when incorporated into a cosmetic formulation.

• Avoid using old or oxidized essential oils. Store away from light and air.

• As a general rule, always perform a patch test by applying your preparation to the inside of your elbow at least 48 hours before use.

• For use as a cosmetic ingredient, refer to specific precautions.

Can be incorporated into your cosmetic preparation at up to 0.8%.

Danger. Causes skin irritation. May cause skin allergy. May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways. Toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting harmful effects. Keep out of reach of children. Wear protective gloves and eye protection.

IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention. IF SWALLOWED: Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.

DO NOT induce vomiting. Dispose of contents/container at a waste collection center in accordance with local regulations.
