Ingredients

Gélisucre Organic Emulsifier
(25%)
Vegetable oil
(75%)
Steps
Step 1
Weigh the organic Gélisucre and the vegetable oil in two separate bowls.
Step 2
Gradually incorporate the vegetable oil into the Organic Gélisucre.
Step 3
Mix well between each addition
Step 4
My oil gel is ready to use!
Tip: When the mixture gels, very gradually increase the amount of vegetable oil.
Note: Do not add glycerin to formulas as the Gélisucre emulsifier already contains more than 50%. 6% Gélisucre emulsifier in a cream will provide 3% glycerin, which will have a moisturising effect*.
* moisturisation of the upper layers of the epidermis
The mixture isn't setting? Don't panic!
Step 1
Is your mixture not gelling?
Step 2
Leave the mixture to rest for 24 hours. The Gélisucre will settle at the bottom of the bowl.
Step 3
Separate the Gélisucre from the oil.
Step 4
Resume mixing.

Fragrance
(1%)
Gelling agent
(0.5%)
Steps
Step 1
Mix the gelling agent in water
Step 2
Let the aqueous gel rest for 10 minutes
Step 3
Mix again
Step 4
Mix the aqueous gel with the oily gel
Step 5
Add the preservative, active ingredient and fragrance, mixing after each addition
Step 6
Transfer, label, and you're ready to go!
Tip: To speed up the process, you can avoid forming the oil gel: simply mix the oil phase with the Gélisucre emulsifier and add the aqueous gel to this oil mixture as described above. We have not observed any difference in stability between emulsions obtained using this simplified method and emulsions prepared from the oily gel, which are theoretically formed in an optimal manner.

Use as the sole emulsifier to make oily gels or as a solubilizer for essential oils
In combination with a gelling agent, such as xanthan gum (0.2-0.5%) in the aqueous phase. It will make the product smooth to apply and give it a fresh feel, while stabilizing the emulsions.
In combination with a co-emulsifier/texturing agent such as cetyl alcohol, VE emulsifier, or stearic acid. These enrich the texture, adding softness and creaminess, and producing thicker creams. However, these emulsions must be made hot (around 70°C) to dissolve the co-emulsifier in the oil phase. The addition of xanthan gum (around 0.3%) in the aqueous phase is always recommended.
Compatibility with preservatives
Grapefruit Seed Extract | 0/3 |
Naticide | 3/3 |
Cosgard | 3/3 |
Benzoate & Sorbate Complex | 3/3 |
Leucidal | 3/3 |
(*** no effect on stability, ** a decrease in stability has been observed in some cases at low dosages, or temporary destabilization has been noted when adding the preservative, * risk of emulsion destabilization)
Making milk and fluid creams: Use 6 to 10% Organic Gélisucre Emulsifier (of the total weight of the preparation), combined with 0.2 to 0.5% xanthan gum in the aqueous phase and 20 to 30% oil phase.
Producing rinse-off oil gels: Gradually incorporate 70 to 80% vegetable oil into 20 to 30% Organic Gélisucre Emulsifier.
Making bath oils: Mix 1 to 5% essential oils into the Organic Gélisucre Emulsifier. The preparation should be diluted in the bath before use.

Note: The type of vegetable oil used has a significant influence on the texture and feel of emulsions. For example, an emulsion made with avocado oil or wheat germ will have a richer feel than the same emulsion made with a "dry" oil such as hazelnut oil or melon oil. In addition, adding essential oils, certain active ingredients, and certain preservatives to your preparation can change the consistency obtained. Feel free to note down all your experiences to build up a database of information that you can consult each time you formulate a new cream.

Premium product
Organic Gélisucre is one of those exceptional products thanks to its organic quality, its moisturizing and emollient properties, the original textures it allows you to achieve, and the fact that it can be used cold.
A natural and organic emulsifier
To our knowledge, this extraordinary emulsifier is the only certified organic emulsifier in France.
Composed of 94% organic ingredients (glycerin, sweet almond oil, and orange water) combined with a sugar ester, it is a very gentle and natural emulsifier. A "sugar ester" is a combination of a sugar (sucrose) and a fatty acid (a component of vegetable oils). There are many different "sugar esters," depending on the fatty acid used and the degree of esterification (i.e., the number of fatty acid molecules associated with each sucrose molecule).. The emulsifier Gélisucre BIO is a sucrose laurate, derived from lauric acid from vegetable oils. Properties on the skin Sugar esters are particularly gentle emulsifiers that are well tolerated even by sensitive skin. They are also valued for their moisturizing and emollient properties (leaving the skin soft and supple). Unique textures Organic Gélisucre is an ingredient that has the unique property of being a liquid emulsifier and allowing cold emulsions or low-temperature emulsions to be made, which fully preserves the qualities of sensitive plant oils and hydrosols.
It is also highly valued for its ability to form unique textures of rinseable oily gels, which emulsify with water to form a milk.
Culture
Certified 92% organic by Ecocert Greenlife according to the COSMOS standard.
Method of production
100% plant-based emulsifier obtained by mixing vegetable glycerin** (> 50%), sweet almond oil*, sugar ester (sucrose laurate), orange fruit water*.
Vegetable glycerin is derived from organic karanja oil, and sucrose laurate is derived from sugar beet and coconut or palm kernel oil.
